My 6 month totals lost each month

Recommended Posts

I just had my 6 month surgiversary. Didn't reach the goal I had planned for at 6 months, but I'm still extremely grateful to be down 52 pounds. I know I would never be here without the surgery. I want to lose at least 35 more pounds.

Date. Weight Lost. TTL Lost

jan 21- wt 232 day of surgery

feb 21- wt 217. -15 pds

mar 21- 206. -11 pds (26 total)

apr 21- 202. -4 pds (30 total)

may 21- 191. -11 pds (41 total)

june 21-185. -6 pds (47 total)

July 21-180. -5 pds (52 total)

Any tips from our Veterans? I am 5'6 and 54 years old.

I think you are doing a good job. i was sleeved the week after you 01/31/13. I am down 44.2 lbs. since surgery, 61.7 total. I am 5'5" and 56 (almost 57) years old. I hear your frustration and I am there with you. I thought I would lose quicker than I am. You know the saying though, we didn't gain it overnight and we aren't going to lose it overnight either. I keep saying to myself keep on plugging, you will get there.

You are doing great!Congratulations on the loss. The closer you are to goal the harder to get the pounds to come off I also have about 30 something pounds to go and it is difficult lately to lose more than a pound a week. Just stick to the basics 70 Protein, 64 Water , exercise and it will be gone eventually :)

I'm not losing very fast either. Lost 15 before surgery and 7 in the 2 months after. I'm only eating about 600 cal a day. Drink lots of Water and walk 1mile every other day. I will walk more as my arthritis and fibro will allow.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
