I was sleeved on a tuesday and home friday morning. I could have driven that afternoon if I wanted. I drove Saturday to my mom's for a family lunch. Your seatbelt doesn't even touch your incisions (or atleast not mine). I did stay in the house a lot the few weeks following because it was difficult to socialize with my friends when I couldn't eat or drink. I'm 29 and live downtown Seattle, so you can imagine my social life evolves around happy hours, restaurants and sports bars! Ive been out a few times lately (even had a few drinks, despite not being 30 days post op :-0 )

I was walking around in the hospital the day of the surgery, and walking outside from the day I got home. A couple days after that, I took the train and went shopping.

I was walking the floors at the hospital the day of surgery, but I waited a week or so before driving, but then again everyone is different. Honestly this has been the best decision that I have made yet

I walked a lot the night following my surgery. The cardio I did prior to surgery is helping me recover. I have stayed indoors a lot due to the heat wave in NY. Stick with air conditioned places like the mall if you want to move around upon arriving home. It takes effort to get down the Water throughout the day and you don't want to end up dehydrated.

Thus I was sleeved on July 15 and was driving on the 18th. Probably could have used one more day and I was off pain med.

I was sleeved on July 16th, came home on the 17th, and was at the mall on the 20th. As long as you aren't on any pain medications, you should be fine. My husband took vacation, so I didn't drive for the first time until today.

My surgeon told his patients they were allowed to drive 24 hours after their last dose of pain meds. i drove myself to my 1 week followup.

I was sleeved on a Wednesday, walking around that night. Wanted to be discharged on Thursday, was actually released Friday. I returned to work full time on Monday. Everyone's different. It depends on you and what kind of work you do. I was really tired in the afternoons the first day or two back to work. I'm happy I got back in my routine as soon as I did, because it allows me to relearn/reinvolve food into my new routine.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
