Congratulations Coops, you really are inspirational and a true testament being successful with the sleeve (even if you feel otherwise). Success is not only the number on the scale, and you have proved it! Everyone is so happy and proud of you!

I look down the list of responses here and it's old home week, CLK, M2G, Sweetums, Oregon Daisy,FeedYourEye, Swizzly, we have all been here going through the business together and if I'm not mistaken, share roughly the same time frame. I was sleeved July 2010 and share the 3rd surgiversary with Coops. Coops, everything you said was so right on and to put your awesome accomplishments in perspective, to help you see just how great they are - The lowest I ever got was 164, and I've gained back up to I don't even know what because I'm genuinely frightened to get on the scale. It is crushing. I know a lot of it is my and my choices and what has happened in my life over the last 12 months, but I'm also battling against the Mirena, which I really do feel has helped pack it on.

You think you are still overweight, do you know how much I would love to be "overweight" like you?

I recently received a pretty devastating diagnosis that has left me reeling and one of the treatments for it is a type of steroid, and we know what those do ...

But I apologise, I don't want to hijack this thread or steal your totally well deserved thunder. Coops, you just never give up and I admire the hell out of that, you keep moving forward and have such an awesome attitude, congratulations my sleeve sister! <3

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
