Almost 4 wks out, new pain

Recommended Posts

Did your pain go away? I don't want to be so anxious about a leak' date=' but scared to death. It is not excruciating pain by any means, but it is different and scaring me...[/quote']

My pain is gone today. I used a heating pad and that helped big time! I also took it easy for a few days. When I called about mine they said the same thing about a pulled muscle. I can see where it would be easy to pull that incision muscle on the inside.

I am doing much better, used Miralax and pain is going away. Didn't realize I was that constipated, honestly have never been constipated before...So glad to be in less pain! Thank you all for your advice and suggestions, I really appreciate it!

My baby had a really bad leak after his bowel resection(he was 30 days old when the leak happened, 25 days old during the first surgery). They knew to do an x-ray to check for a leak because he all of the sudden started running a fever, his heart rate was all of the sudden elevated, his tummy was no longer soft, and his blood pressure was really low. So most likely you would have a lot more symptoms if it were a leak. I hope you feel better soon.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
