This might be a question that has already been addressed several times, but i am definitely asking again....

I was sleeved April 9th and according to my team i have been doing great with my weight loss. Well I am three months out and am only 43lbs down, I feel like I should be more down.

I battle with how many calories I should be getting. I was doing 600 a day but I moved it up to 800, which I am now constantly hungry so I am going back down.

I work out at the gym so I know i have a calorie deficit daily.

Could it be that I am not meeting my Protein goal daily?

I just need a lil guidance y'all....

Help?

Protein is very important.

I'm 2 months tomorrow and at 6 weeks was 500-600 cals and goal of 60-90 g of protein.

At my 6 week appt which I didn't have til 8 weeks due to my work schedule the NUTsaid 900-1000 cals.

I aim for 900 cals and 90 g of protein but often go over my protein number.

Qween - you are losing at a really nice pace. Anything more than at that pace is you losing muscle.

The most important thing you can do right now is keep your Protein up and avoid muscle loss.

Stick with what you're doing and be patient - you'll get where you want to be, I promise!

Thank you two for replying I know I need to just focus on my Protein. I ordered my Unjury finally which is the only one I can tolerate.

I'm almost 10 weeks out and my nut said they want me at 1000 cals by 3 months. I'm struggling to hit 600-800. She also told me at that low number of cals, working out isn't wide because there isn't enough fuel to compensate and that exercising would be counter productive at that cal amount. So I would guess for you that you should try bumping up your cals by eating more Protein (or drinking it) and stick to your workout schedule. Keep up the great work!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
