When can citrus fruits be reintroduced to my diet? My sleeve was performed on 7/1/13.

fruit (other than applesauce that was allowed earlier) was added on my 6 week visit.

I've still not had any fruit since I don't have room after my Protein.< /p>

food plans vary so vastly from program to program. What did the materials from your nutritionist or surgeon say?

For me I could introduce citrus and pineapple week 7... Citrus and seeds were the LAST things I was allowed.. I was allowed a big hunk of beef before I was allowed citrus!

I can't find anything to specifically give me a date for adding citrus only to avoid it due to the potential of ulcers from the acidity. I can't wait to have smoothies with real fruit and Protein Powder so I was just curious.

Gotta love some of our instructions! Like mine...it says "avoid nuts" there's no point at which is says I can have nuts- it seems to expect me to avoid them forever!

However...I could have citrus fruits without the membrane at 4 to 6 weeks, I guess that means I can have the membrane after 6 weeks.

the only fruit I have had so far is banana.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
