Has anyone done this? :) And did you know what type of Protein it was?

I just realized the Protein powder would be from the smoothies they make at some locations. It's whey protein: http://www.starbucks...control=product

I did also see they had a link for drinks under 200 calories: http://www.starbucks.com/menu/nutrition/20-under-200

I order a tall veranda blend with room for cream, put skim in it and two splenda and I'm good to go.

Something about asking for a tall blonde with room for cream is very satisfying... Just saying.

Mark

Mark, that's what I got yesterday! A tall blonde with skim milk and sugar free vanilla Syrup and 2 splendas....was very satisfying, and cheaper than the espresso drinks. Sounds sort of like a foreign language, doesn't it?!

I get a skinny latte almost everyday, I think they are replacing some of my old sweet cravings.

Yes they have Protein powder. They put it in their vivanos with starwberry, banana etc. it's still 300 calories for the smoothies,,it's about 20 gms of Protein. Problem is, the fruits add a lot of sugar.

Not all Starbucks make them (the airport ones don't for example) but most stand-alone stores do.

Interestingly those "protein" boxes? Check out the carbs in that. Quite high. I've pored over the Starbucks menu heavily because often, when in traveling that's the only reliable meal source. But I'd accepted even way before the surgery, that I could never eat there.

I used to have an iced grande soy latte, but on low carb, that's not practical. So I switched to an Americano with half the Water and a tiny bit of half n half. Full of taste and flavor, no calories.

It's esay enough to toss the crackers. This is a great on the go option in my book. :)

I may have to try it. Some of the airports I go through, the options are beer, wings, or hamburgers. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
