Recommend me a few cook books

Recommended Posts

I'm looking in to buying some "essential" cook books to help me along especially during the first few months with puréed foods and high Protein meals.

Any essentials out there?

I rarely buy cook books anymore. There are so many recipes online that I can find everything I need with the touch of a button! Eggface has a lot of good recipes on her site. I am sure there are others out there but that is a great place to start.

these are my go to resources for recipes.

emilybites has an amazing selection of 'cupcake' meals. perfect portions for sleevers and got me through the first year.

these sites have well over 300 recipes total that will knock your socks off. my kids love the way we eat now, and almost all of our meals come from these sites.

Wonderful thank you. I'm planning on doing a lot of "food" homework in the next few weeks and start stocking up the pantry with high Protein foods.

Thank you x

I kept things really simple (boring) during my puréed weeks. I had one of those Magic Bullets that I used to blend up my tuna, egg, or salmon salad. For me, I still had a hard time eating so I still ate very little during my pureed food weeks. I did buy 1001 Low-Carb recipes by Dana Carpender her receipt are simple and easy to make. Plus I needed the variety; I get really bored with food.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
