Ahhh, yes... a good story :)

THAT is ALL that it was though... just a good story for a later date :)

As much as it is funny to make a joke about it with people I know. I would never seriously do it. Honestly, I wouldn't have had a one night stand with the guy even if he was single. (YEAH, I know... crazy)

I value myself WAY to much to do anything like that. It is just awfully funny.

If he'd acutally been single. he would have been too much of the "would like to snag him permanently" type. Those are the ones you have to take your time with if you want any respect from them what-so-ever.

So, he was in trouble either way.

He picked the WRONG girl to pick up if that was all he was wanting... I am much to good for all of that. Although... to think that I can tell people I turned all THAT down. hmmmmm.... makes you reevaluate your power as a woman!

Take THAT Mr. Cambridge University!

Here is what I wrote back for those of you who want to know. I was nice about it. Not really my place to lecture him, and it is not like he would have listened anyway! :-) So, here is my very nice answer.

Szymon,

Well, allow me to politely decline.

I am a very respectable woman with tremendous amount of class. I could not in good conscience accept your offer... out of respect for both you and your wife. It is too bad that you are married. You were such a pleasure to talk to.... refreshing, confident, very educated, informed. You are very inquisitive and insightful. It was very nice carrying on a conversation with someone that possessed those qualities. I am not sorry I said yes. Just disappointed that I won't have the opportunity to sit and chat with you again.

I wish you luck in your search. I am sure if you check out a few local clubs tonight and tomorrow... you will find your type of lucky lady before you leave. She would be crazy to say "no" right?

Unfortunately for you, yes, I am crazy.

And, the answer is still a firm "no"

It was a pleasure meeting you.

Sweethot: hope you get your Bugg soon! And glad to hear the hubby gets to stay put for at least a little longer.

VA: I'm waiting with baited breath to hear about the interview.

StephC: you look GREAT!

BooBoo: Sorry I missed your call, I was in girl's deer camp myself until yesterday. Didn't see a thing, but one of us got a small doe. She's the one who has already taken two bucks this year, wench! :girl_hug: I'm very glad to hear the DH is starting to wake up (hopefully he's sincere) and smell the Folgers brewing. I agree with you, this last attempt is worth it. If for nothing else but the girls. If it doesn't help, then you know you have tried EVERYTHING, if it turns things around, then WOOHOO!

Happy early birthday! Tell Faith I'm sorry I missed her BDay and I hope it was a good one (from one Faith to another, ya know).

Brandi: You are a Hottie McHottie, I know why those men flock to you! And for me the four guaranteed things wrong with a man I met were: Married, Gay, Too Old or Perverted. Once I actually had all four, I ran screaming!

Haven't lost a pound in three months, kinda coincides with me stopping exercising. Life got REALLY hairy and busy as heck there for a while, and it still is. But I really noticed it at deer camp. The first day I had to stop three times to rest on my walk up the hill out of the woods. By the last time I came out, I could make it the whole way without resting, but I was huffing and puffing. I'm getting back in the game, TODAY.

Hey my Faith2--

It is ok you haven't lost anything, I know you ahve been focused on the things that have really needed your attention! I am glad you are ready to get back to it, it wouldn't work any other way! Sorry no big buck for you baby! :)

BK--that is completely awsome you were asked, quite an honor! Congrats! :P

OMG--I am developing bony knees! Can you believe it? :faint:

(I know, I know--I REALLY need to get a life)!

I whacked my knee on one of my lower cupboard doors this morning. I decided to check out how bad the bruise is so I just pulled up my pant leg to check it out. Lo and behold--I have bones in my knees! :wow2:

Obviously, I don't spend a whole lot of time ogling my knees! LOL!

By the way, sorry to hear about the computer woes! That's a major bummer! :think

I got out there and raked leaves today with my son and got the whole front yard done! I didn't even feel like I was going to have a coronary! :whoo:

just a few little NSV's that I have been noticing for a while now and I thought I'd share.

1. not taking up an entire seat in the car! I used to notice skinny people still had room on the seat, my giant legs overlapped the seat. now I have seat left to see!

2. When i get out of the car, my thighs don't scrape the steering wheel, been that way for a while, but i just noticed that I no longer tilt the wheel up to get out.

3. I don't get stuck in my patio chairs anymore, there is room.

4. at the movies, my arms don't automatically go for the armrest because i'm so wide, i can comfortable put my arms at my sides.

5. I can wear my cute 3 inch stilettos for more than 5 minutes without my ankles swelling over them.

6. I can see my feet.

7. I can sleep on my side or back without it aching

..just to name a few.

BooBooKitty--Good luck on your finals! I feel your pain! The good news is that once you're done it's holiday time!!! Oh yeah--about your age...the good news is that you'll still be closer to 30 than 35. I'm going to be 42 this year, but I'm still happy because I'm closer to 40 than 45! LOL! :)

good morning ladies!

VA - yipee for the job!!! I'm so happy for you, best of luck and when do you start?

Sweet - way to go with the nsvs! I've noticed simular things too. I totally love crossing my legs and sit with them crossed all the time. More then anything I feel like I'm normal now -size wise - we all know I'll never really be normal - hehe - before I felt sloppy and that no matter what I did I looked sloppy - now I can be sloppy - sweats and a tshirt - and feel like I look ok.

I'm still holding steady at 168-169 but my clothes are feeling looser on me. My pants I wore yesterday had been feeling alittle snug in the butt and yesterday they were nice and comfy. I can't seem to find my notebook that has all my measurements in it - hmmmm.

Bk - good to hear from you girlfriend! How's the new house? I hope you pop in more now.

Nikki - :P sorry to hear of the busted computor! The same thing happened to my dd - she didn't remember doing anything to break it and it ended up costing hundreds to get it fixed. I'd just get a new one - thankgoodness for Santa Claus!

Whats everyone wanting for Christmas this year? I have told everyone - mainly dh - that I want gift cards for clothes. But I'd also like a stained glass window. I saw one at an older ladies house and she had it hung in front of another window - do you know what I mean? Anyway it was so pretty. But clothes are good!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
