Hi Girls,

I have missed all of you so much!!!! I am sorry it has been a week or more now. I am going through something and I need you all.....

How is everyone doing? How are those restrictions going? I feel like I am totally lost and have no clue what is going on, but that is me sometimes!

I don't really want to post what is going on, but I know if I don't you will be wondering.....SO! I am at the scariest point in my life.

I found a lump in my breast last week. It is about the size of my pinky finger in length and very hard. I also have rippling on my breast, decreased sensation, ect.

Well I thought at first I was crazy, and tried to ignore it. But then my DH saw the ripple thing and asked if that was due to weight loss. I started crying and had him feel the lump. He felt it too so it is not in my head.

I went to the Gyno yesterday. My Dr was in surgery so they had to "squeeze" me into some other chicks scheduale after I got there. I don't know if she was just too busy or what but she totally blew me off.

She did a touch exam of the breast, but asked NO medical history, no family history. NOTHING. She said she wasn't sure what it was, but since it was only there a few days she thought we should wait. I am not joking. She told me I was due for my yearly in 3 mos. if it was still there then they would do an ultrasound....what the hell??????

SO obviously I am looking for a new Dr on Monday. I want a second opinion. If she had taken the time to do her job she would have found out that I have an Aunt who died at 35 of breast cancer. Just 5 years older than me.

I have never been so scared, or felt actually more alone in my entire life. I can't tell my husband all these dark things in my head of dying ect. Of course Mom is not helping only making me feel worse. And my best friend lost her sister at 27 to breast cancer, so I haven't even told her. I can't tell her until I know something.

Ok, now please before you start, NOT ONE OF YOU feel sorry for me PLEASE! I think you girls know me better than that! I know that you are all sorry. I don't want that. I am not trying to be mean, I need you all to help me be strong!

I also want to give you all my email, so if I drop out of sight again you can reach me..... brandalyn07@comcast.net

Ok, I am so so so so so so sorry to burden you guys.....I love you all.....I just need someone to talk to, and you all are great.

Boo - like I posted in the other thread. Get to a specialist asap! When you stand infront of the mirror look at your breasts. You should be looking for a difference between the two. Hands on hips look for changes in shape, size or skin texture, raise hands overhead and look again. Changes including dimpling, swelling or redness. Check for changes in nipples including unusual discharge. I sure wouldn't wait 3 months! I'll be praying for you, not only for your health but also for peace of mind. I know something scarey like this can really throw us for a loop. Believe all will be fine.

Natster! Girl so happy you're back and happy. Positive thinking on the job issue! Sounds like your fill is working great and the exercise is coming along good.

Caseye - thats normal and its frustrating, we've all been there. It feels as if you never even had the surgery. BUT at 6 weeks you should get your first fill and then things will change. You'll feel restriction, and then you'll need to go for another fill .. and another...your doctor should talk to you about how it feels when you are needing another fill. Until you get that first fill you just have to use your will power not to over eat. Good luck.

I actually feel like I'm going to make my goal for the summer! I might even change my ticker to reflect my FIRST goal. I'm actually getting less then 1000 calories - FINALLY! I feel like I'm at a sweetspot. The satiety is lasting and I feel full at 1 cup - its GREAT! Fingers are crossed that it sticks with me for at least 20 lbs! :)

Jill hows the little one now? And you? Are you feeling better? Thank God he has his angels watching over us.

Maybe I'll paint today... HA HA ... seriously wheres that fire? you know the one to light under my arse!

Ok ladies... I contacted every who was an original -- PM'd them all and sent the link to this spot. :-) So, that should help us keep a bit better track of those we already know.

I am going to keep posting to the other new people on the old board, but this way we can keep up with the people we have already gotten to know withOUT all of the extra posts popping up in between...

so, yeah... Steph ate a candy bar!!! :) hehe

I drank the equivilant of a liquid candy bar last weekend... dont feel bad. We all have our weak moments. We can't all be as cool as Nat :)

hehe, thank you Nat for kicking us all in the behind. We will all need it from time to time... I will kick yours when ever you need it. You Elliptical Goddess you!

... She had really better hope that I do not do a chapter on her, which I could....

Brandy, She's just jealous of you. Let me give you a hug :) .

I can't wait until I can fit into a 14. I can't wait for the 13th when I'll get my band. Don't worry about the sap suckers that try to sap all the joy for your life.

If you want to wright a chapter add my DH at the end. He hasn't said a word about mu decision, I do have to admit I didn't tell him until last Tues., and he's not driving me to or from the hospital which is less than 15 miles away form home.

Thank God for good friends that want me/us to successed. :clap2:

I'm passing my clothes to a fellow bander I met yesterday at preop class. She's heavier than me and won't get her band untill the middle of May, so she'll be just behind me.

Jen it looks as if you figured out the ticker. Good job. We've all been where you are now, its exciting. Good luck. I hope dh becomes more supportive - why haven't you discussed this? I know with me I had made the decision before I told him but he was very supportive. Do you have someone else to drive you to the hospital? I will warn you now so you can prepare, surgery is a big deal no matter how minor it may seem and you'll really want someone who loves you there when you wake up. I had surgery on my wrist about 10 years ago, not thinking it was a big deal I went it alone, BIG mistake. I woke up, recovered and started crying, I had no one there to hold my hand. I've had 3 surgeries since then and dh has been there for all of them. Make sure you have someone with you.

Jill its good to hear the babe is doing ok.

Boo we're praying for you.

Va Kirsten have you scheduled your fill yet? You know we're only about 2 hours away, wish we could get together sometime.

Good morning ladies. Well today I'm back to work full time. Although I'm only working today and tomorrow, I'll be out of town from Wed to Sat. I'm excited to see if I lose more weight when I'm working and not at home bored.

Yesterday was a horrible day calorie wise, I had about 1500 - alot compared to my other under 1000 days. But it was rainy and all dh and I did after church was sit in front of the tv and snack. But I did track and I'm not letting it get me down. Actually the scale was down another pound this morning. I've decided to change my weight on Sundays. I know I can't stay off of it during the week but on fitday I'm going to change it just on Sundays so I can average what I lose in a week. I think for my goal of 140 by Christmas I need to lose an average of 1.4 lbs a week. I've really gotten into using fitday alot. I love the reports and stuff you can do on it.

I haven't walked the past 2 days so I need to get moving so I can get that in before I have to leave for work. Have a good day - I'll check in with you later.

Hey everyone and a Happy Monday to you all. I am so thrilled my scale is finally moving almost daily now. I know I should not weigh daily but I have always done it out of habit. I have lost 3 lbs this wkend even though this is just my second fill. I think I may be at my sweet spot because I can barely eat. I mean six bites tops. I hope it stays like this. I am so happy to hear everyone is doing well. Good Luck this wk and my April goal to lose 12 lbs is looking good ....

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
