Have a Happy Fast Day everyone!

MG2- I would fast tomorrow, that way you can really enjoy your time with you friend.

Cheri- What your hubby said is the truth, alot of women give up taking care of themselves after having children. Keep your head high and strut your stuff you have earned it.

Georgia- What can I say, you are rocking this 5:2 diet like no one else.

FYE- I love how I feel on the fast days as well, I think it's the control I feel.

Orgendaisy- Don't let that broken arm hold you back from anything! You are strong and will persevere through anything.

Ms Skinniness- Those carb demons are always around the corner, I have to tell myself all the time to walk away lol. Easier said than done.

Laura- You are awesome! Thanks for being a friend.

To Everyone on here, lets rock this 5:2 today and show our bodies whose BOSS lol. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Whew, done with my second fast of the week! Didn't feel too bad, but was hungry a bit this afternoon. I ended up with 532 cals, so I'll take it! The last Peanut Butter spoon always puts me over the top LOL.

This fasting makes me quite more creative food-wise than I normally am. I've been having a version of a salad I love. Sliced green cabbage with chicken on it, with a dressing of sesame oil (takes only a wee bit, it's very flavorful!), vinegar, ginger, garlic and cayenne. So yummy! I eat a big heaping helping of it for not many calories and it tastes delicious. I daresay I'd eat it on a normal day. :D

Cheri, don't make me put my unicorn suit on again... I already had to don it yesterday to make myself look nicer :D

Skinniness,

Getting back into the swing of things after vacation was hard!!! It took me two weeks, but dint give up! And remember we are like the mob you just can't drop out and quit... :P

I think some of us might be in the mid summer blues..I know I'm fighting it.

Leeann, your weight loss is amazing by the way!

Okay, Ive cleared the Halfway point! 150 calories under my belt. Now deciding what I will have for dinner tonight. Maybe my "go to". Lol. I'm very original. 2 extra lean turkey franks, 100 cal guacamole pack and cut up red pepper and cukes. And still have enough for my SF fudge bar or WW strawberry frozen yogurt bar. Okay, gotta stop. Made myself hungry. :)

Don't give up, Ms skinniness! I have felt the same way at times, too. Lately there's a reluctance on fast days and I'm getting sloppy with sticking to the 500 calorie limit. In part, it's due to plain old laziness. But part of it is that all told, I don't seem to be losing weight any faster on 5:2 so I find myself eating more like my old maintenance routine and shedding those pounds slowly.

Oh dear, I pray I'm not one of *those* people that needs instant scale gratification to feel happy. :P

I ran in to the same mindset last time I slowly slogged to goal. Those last fifteen pounds? It took me FIVE stinking months to lose them. I only have one more pound to be back in my maintenance window, another four after that to be at the bottom of that range and another three after that to be back at my original goal weight. So, top end, we're looking at eight pounds.

Yeah...it's totally going to take me three more months to painfully work my way back there and I know it.

It's discouraging...but I guess I'm being ungrateful, because at least I'm not gaining and at least this still isn't challenging.

It's not that it's hard, it's that I just don't feel like doing it.

Anyway, you stick around and hang in there and I'll stick around and hang in there. And eventually, we'll both see the numbers we want on the scale.< /p>

Then we get our free unicorn prize, or so I hear. And it's all rainbows and sparkly sunshine after that!

~Cheri

i will stick around, I do not want to give up right now but it would be so easy. I want my 5 lbs off even if it takes me a few months. I have to get the sugar demon out of me. I allowed myself to eat candy and cheetos and I know they're just plain evil.....today I am eating Protein Shakes and a small bag of peanuts. Now I will focus on getting in veggies and some salami.

I do need to exercise and am going to go check to see how much paint I have so I can finish painting the bedroom my nephew hasn't finished. Gotta keep busy. Hope your baby is feeling better after his immunizations.....:(

Thank you everyone for your encouragement, it puts me back where I need to be......this is a great support group! :P

Dorrie

I can't see me going 4 whole weeks without going to the gym. I know when I use the cardio machines, my fingers swell up. I wouldn't want my wrist to swell under this cast,

end of my fast day - not been the best to be honest cal wise... defo over 500 but good cals if that makes sense. I'm not gonna sweat it though. Defo felt more hunger today, despite keeping myself busy; went to work and got done what I wanted to do; watered my dad's garden; went to Curves and tidied the house - nothing exciting really. Then had a relaxing evening watching TV with the hubby!

Tomo I'm gonna be vigilant even though it isn't a fast day as I'm going to the pub Sat night for my friend's birthday - needless to say, I will drink a whole lot of cider! Probably dance like no one is looking though, so that is a bonus!

Lets hope the scale isn't cruel to me...lol!

Oh, nearly forgot - I was weighed and measured in Curves today and since the beg of June (near the start date of the 5:2 for me), I've lost 7lbs and 7 inches. I've reduced my body fat so all good. Currently, according to their 'system' I have a body fat percentage of 30 - which, I feel is too high... I am aiming for 24 regardless of what the scale reads!

Wish me luck!

Mine came in at 507 in calories. Still feel hungry maybe I'll munch on some ice. Hope everyone had a great day. Will weigh in Saturday to see if anything was lost. Thinking of maybe doing the 5:2 on Tuesday and Friday, I think a couple of days inbetween might make a little difference. We will see I will start it next week.

Feed day yesterday, came in at 1350 calories but Protein only 60 so I will have to keep an eye on that. Yesterday morning after my fast day the scales said 2lb down but I did not claim it as we all know how those scales bounce. Fasting today scales say 1 up on yesterday, so far only Water (it is 9.20am here). I am just going to do my exercise program then I will have a Protein Shake. Nothing too exciting planned for today but I should do something to get me out of the house otherwise the fridge or cupboards might start shouting out to me. I think I like it better when my fast days are Tues and Thurs as I feel more in synch with others, the beauty of this 5:2 is that next week they can be.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
