I have had my lap band in for 2 years. After a second slip, that has not fixed itself, I am considering a revision to the sleeve. In the two years I have had the band in, I have only lost 40 lbs. I deal with heartburn, chest tightness, and all the other symptoms others have mentioned. I've met with my doctor and he thinks that a revision is the best option. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who regrets changing to the sleeve? No matter what I do, I know I want/need the band out. I am just worried that because I didn't have much success with the band, that the sleeve wont work either.

No regrets. and I agree with others I wished I'd done this sooner. My family member is struggling with borderline high blood pressure but, mine has improved from 170/100 to 109/72 or lower since my sleeve and I love it. I only pray for my family member and I have inspired them to eat better and exercise.

I was banded in 2001 and revised to a banded plication in 2011. I wish I would've revised to a sleeve then. I had considered it but don't think I was quite ready. So like others - I wish I would've done it sooner. I'm about 2 1/2 weeks post op and feel great!

i was banded back in 2006 and had a slip, the doctor removed that band and replaced it with another but warning me that usually 1 slip can mean that the next band would slip as well. about a year later that band slipped leaving me no choice but to have it removed. he offered me the sleeve back then which was 2009 but i said no way. i was at a decent weight having lost 70 lbs and just wanted the band out. the dr thought id be able to manage my weightless too. anyway, here i am today with all the weight back on and deciding if i should go ahead and get sleeved. ive been considering it for well over a year. im terrified because of my past experiences, im afraid something down the road will go wrong with the sleeve and its not fixable. i want it so bad though, i need that once of hope that the band gave me. i struggle with this every day.

I had the band removed almost 3 weeks ago, and I went with the sleeve. In three years with the with the band I only lost 40lbs., and most of it was before the surgery. Today only two weeks post-op I have lost 32lbs. I know that I have a long way to go and can not wait to get off liquids, but so far it is worth it to me.

It was one of the best things I have ever done and it has given my life back to me. I wish I had done it sooner.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
