60g protein + 64oz water at 3 weeks = impossible!

Recommended Posts

Having the hardest time with this. I'm really trying but there's just no way I can get all this in. I'm in the pureed stage.

I am eating and drinking all the time, and SO FULL all the time but still have to keep putting more in when I don't want it!

Major whey intolerance so my only powder is Jay Robb egg white Protein (24g) and I still can't stomach it more than once a day, plus trying to use real foods.

Anyone have any great ideas?

I can't do that at seven weeks PO. Just do your best! :)

Don't force yourself to keep eating if you don't want it, either. liquids are most important right now. Just try to up your Protein a bit every few days. At your stage, I was getting 24-30 of each max, but most days it was one or the other.

I am still hovering around 40 of each, but my healing has been slower than most. You will get there,

I have a 20oz water bottle, I fill 1/2 with Water, a squirt of Mio and the rest the Isopure ready to drink. You can hardly taste the Isopure and it has 20g of Protein in 1/2 bottle. You will get there. It took me a few weeks.

EXACTLY how I feel. I'll be 3 wks in two days and sometimes I hardly get in 20 g of Protein and I'm full all day long. I try to rotate protein w Water because I'm so thirsty. Glad to know I'm not the only one not getting all 60g each day

See my post about the ice shaver maker for extra Fluid intake. As for Protein I am struggling too. Still on full liquids only 9 days post op. I'm waiting for the puree stage this week. We will see how I do with that.

When I was at puree stage, I had:

scrambled egg or cottage cheese and applesauce for Breakfast

Protein drink around 10:30

pureed split pea Soup or chili around 1:30 for lunch

greek yogurt with added Protein Powder at 4:30

pureed chicken with chicken broth or unjury chicken flavored Protein Powder for dinner at 7:30

Also, a good way to get liquid and Protein together is put 1/2 scoop unflavored Unjury protein pwder in Crystal Lite. You'll never know it's there!

Hope this helps

Can you not taste the isopure flavor or does isopure make a flavorless?

If you mix the isopure with crysta light or mio, no you can't taste it. shake well before each sip.

also I found that the. Coconut flavor was the closest to having no flavor. I thought I'd hate it cuz Iam not a coconut person. Turns out to be kne of my favorites!

ok glad to know I'm not alone in this. spent a lot of time last night looking up exactly what foods give me the biggest "bang for the buck" and will be sticking closer to them, less experimenting. yogurt, cottage cheese, meats basically.

it seems I can do one goal or the other, just not both. depends on what I focus on that day, and maybe I'll go back and forth for a while til I can attain both.

If you like milk, I took a suggestion from someone on here, when I am running low on Protein, I drink a cup or two of milk...not in one sitting, but a cup of skim milk has 9 grams of protein and 80 calories.

It helps when I am running a little low on protein.

Can't use Unjury or drink glasses of milk, as I said I have had lactose and whey intolerances:(

I'm having split pea Soup too but don't get progresso it has the skins of the peas in it. Campbells or andersons is better no skins.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
