This morning was my first (and hopefully last) vomiting experience. Well, the omelette was delicious- which was part of the problem. I'm feeling a little too normal and trying to eat a little too noramal-- lesson learned: EAT SLOWLY AND CHEW COMPLETLY!

I just kept apologizing to my sleeve. LOL. The experience wasn't horrendous, but I did cry about throwing up Protein.< /p>

I had my first one yesterday. Had some wonderful turkey. It was BBQ and soooooo gooooood! And well between eating too fast and one bite too many I had my first vomit. I was surprised at how non violent it was compared to when I would vomit before my sleeve. But I was saddened at the loss of protein.., I'm convinced that had I slowed, I could have had that much turkey though, it was only 3.5 oz, and I've had more than that of chicken in the last couple of days... But the chicken wasn't as good and I didn't scarf it up as quick.

Good luck to you and may this be our last time!

Glad that you both recognize it's either that you ate too fast or too much. I am 18 months out, have never thrown up and fortunately have a stop warning signal, my NOSE runs first starting with the sniffles, if I take one more bite, it runs like a faucet. You'll be like your old self soon, meaning your struggles will become habits and you won't see it as a struggle. We all have days that we can eat more than others, some days I'm starving. So a Protein Drink in between helps. The more carbs I try to sneak in, the hungrier I become. If at all, avoid them. We are all human and have cravings, I satisfy mine. Not in volume, it often doesn't take more than a bite or two. I now cook for others and take a bite. I love my sleeve. Love my time working out and the solitude and satisfaction that comes with it. The best to both of you.

I think we learned our lesson! And I agree with you-- I thought the vomiting experience would've been so much worse, but I guess when you only eat a couple ounces, it's not so bad. I've decided to lay low today and have a couple Protein shakes-- and try some BBQ shrimp this evening -- SLOWLY! Lol

Yes, it was def my fault. I should've paid more attention. 18 months and no vomit- awesome! I was actually just bragging to my husband last night that I never threw up. He said I jinxed myself. Haha.

I had my first experience after 4 months yesterday. Ate chicken breast too fast. It was way different than a sick feeling. It was horrible pain, weird cold saliva, and then it came up... But just enough until my sleeve was comfy. I'm thinking this is what some people call "sliming".

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
