I have talked myself into pursuing this and tomorrow is my 1st Dr. Apt.

I have called my Insurance (Aetna Choice II) and they do cover it. I reviewed their requirements (2 years of a BMI > 40) and a 90 day medical oversight and called my primary Doctor to get my weight for the last 3 years and I qualify. I don’t have any serious Medical issues that I know of, except the obvious over weight.

I hope it goes well tomorrow. Do you think my insurance will approve it? I have read of a lot of people being denied.

My first appointment is today. Based on what I've read so far you sound like a fair candidate to me!??!! Good luck.

It seems to me the most important part is having good office staff. The office staff should know all the requirements and should make sure they meet requirements before sending out. My doctors staff is amazing. Once I completed all my pre surf hurdles, the sent the auth request. Insurance approved it in 1 day.

I met with my doctor today. I'm unable to meet with the nutritionist until the end of the month. When the clock starts ticking for my 90 days? Does anyone know?

You're 90 days should start with that first visit you had. Enjoy the process. You will have lots of things to do to fill up you 90 days.

I don't know everything I need to do, I guess I'll find out on Friday. I do know, however, I will be traveling back and forth to Mexico for 6 weeks.

Russ, does this mean you're having your surgery in Mexico? Does the insurance pay for that? I would have thought they only pay emergency care out of the country.

No, sorry if I wasn't clear. I will be traveling to Mexico for business during the 90 day evaluation process. I was referencing the comment by UCCMART "You will have lots of things to do to fill up you 90 days"

I know there are a lot of items I need to get done so I am a little stressed how I will get them all done while traveling.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
