Ok I know there are a million threads out there on thirst but here goes

I feel good, I have energy. I am 14 days post-op

BUT I get very cotton mouth and feel super thirsty all the time and my urine is so dark. I know dark urine indicates dehydration but wouldn't I feel tired and sick?

I have been drinking as much Water as possible still struggling to get my Protein in but it gets better day by day. What do you guys think????

Thanks!

Keep trying, you will get there. I am 6 weeks out and I still have dark urine and trouble getting all my Fluid in. I have a Water bottle with me at all times and have gotten myself up to at least 36 ounces a day, FINALLY. I am getting better each day, but if I am not carrying it, I don't do it.

This is bizarre to me because I have always been a chugger. I hate hate hate not being able to chug a 20 oz bottle of Water in under a minute like I used to do. I almost always feel thirsty, especially now that it is so hot outside and I would rather eat than drink.

You will get there!

You won't necessarily feel tired or sluggish with dehydration. Everyone is different. Perhaps you are sweating out Water more than you realize during the day. Try drinking a Soup cup full of full sodium chicken broth once a day. You can improve your water retention that way.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
