My NUT told me that the 6 consecutive visits with her would suffice....

Have a letter from BCBS that states the same requirements need to be met, hope there aren't any last minute surprises?

I would call the surgeons office and BCBSM to ensure that NUT notes count. The medical policy states Dr. Notes. I wasn't able to use progress notes from sad kin complex and I went for 6 months last year and was seen by nurse. So please check with your surgeon and the insurance

So my insurance now will only cover it if I have sleep apnea type two diabetes or some heart disease either one thank god I don't but I think I have sleep apnea lol so there gonna send me to test for that. I am borderline line diabetic but that's not enough unless my doctor prescribes me meds=(

That's exactly what I was told that I need some kind of co morbidity issue. I'm not sure if I have sleep apnea I do have trouble sleeping but I'm not sure of that has anything to do with it and sometimes I gasp for air but that's not too often. I hope I don't get denied!!!

I don't remember a lot about comorbidities. But did extensively document knee and back pain. I didn't have any comorbidities.

Did they accept your knee and back pain issues?

Yes. They did. I went to the doc every time they acted up and had them prescribe meds for the pain.

Does anyone know if the PATS testing covered by BCBSM?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
