Im so pathetic.. i think i have a serious problem :(

I bet what she means when she asked if you cheated is "did you cheat a lot". Also consider that even if you do the pre-op your liver could still be enlarged, but maybe not quite as much.

I had one last Acapulco dinner the night I was supposed to start and then on day 4 I had a small grilled chicken Ceasar salad at IKEA, but those were my only 2 cheats. And the dressing was on the side, so I didn't eat it all.

I did have fatty liver, but I don't think for a minute that it's because I started my diet 9 hours late and had a really small Cesar salad more than a week before surgery. I really think this surgery saved my life because I had a lot of things starting to happen and I was told all of them would get better when I lost weight. My boyfriend told me that I don't snore anymore and poked me on the shoulder to point out that my bones are starting to show. I think my asthma is starting to get better, and my blood pressure has gone down. And the big thing is that my knees don't hurt as much anymore.

Thanks! I, hoping this saves me too. I'm only 23, but have 2 small kids and a husband to live long for. I also have a heart condition that won't go away, but won't be as bad. My whole family has diabetes and high blood pressure. Also, my mom went to go get sleeved on Monday, and she ended up cut completely open and not sleeved because she had cirrhosis of her liver quite severely. Her surgeon said its from having fatty liver for sooooo many years. He said her liver looked like a liver of a serious alcoholic (she doesn't drink). I guess that's why I'm so crazy about this liver shrink diet.

Well, I would be freaked out after what happened to your mom - but c'mon, you ate one (1) soft taco. Chances are your liver is not that fatty - and that Nurse Cratchett was just trying to scare you!! In the entire scheme of things, you're doing fine - stop beating yourself up!!!

Day 10 of my 2 week pre op diet. I cheated once on day 2' date=' and I've been good since.. until today :(. My best friend is going through a divorce so I was at her house all day moving his stuff out. In 90 degree heat. I sweated and sweated and not matter how much Water I drank I still felt so dizzy. We took the kids to Taco Bell and I had a freakin soft taco. I immediately felt horrible! I'm 4 days away!!! What's wrong it's me?! And even worse.. I contemplated making myself throw it up to relieve the guilt. I'm going to remain dedicated the next four days. But I'm upset that I ate knowing I shouldn't, and I'm also upset that I considered throwing it up. Maybe I need to see a counselor. Do they have counseled especially for food problems? I hope I didn't screw up my liver. I'm just so mad -_-[/quote']

Don't be hard on yourself!!!!! A soft taco will do nothing !! You will be fine. Your day is almost here !!!! I do however don't think the counseling part is so bad !! I am going to my nutritionist who offers mental health in her meetings.

You should be okay and I think that the only way the nurse or doctor will know something is if you told them that you cheated. One taco won't hurt you -- just keep sticking to the plan and you will be okay.

My doctor does not order a pre-op diet because he said that he's found patient compliance is horrible on it for the most part. He said everybody always cheats because they are afraid they will never be able to eat their favorite foods again.

I think this is why some offices are more strict and warn people more about staying on the pre-op diets they order. It's for those people who will cheat a lot and really lie about their noncompliance. From what you've posted, I wouldn't consider you to be in that category.

I ordered grilled shrimp during my preop diet and they lied it was shrimp scampi. I had to eat' date=' so I tried to get the butter off in a napkin lol. Had nightmares about that buttered shrimp. Ask my husband, I sounded as if I had murdered someone by eating the shrimp, I planned a lot better after that with only. Few days left and I did still lose 10 pounds on the preop an my surgeon was pleased. Just a minor set back. Put it behind you and do what I did. Make sure you have no room for error the last few days lol[/quote']

LMBO! You guys are super funny!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
