Recommended Posts

How are the husband/wife sleevers doing? Updates please! Here's ours : My husband is a beast. He has lost 75 pounds (including preop) and is under 300 for the first time in years. I just hit my first goal as of this morning - 50 lbs down.(including preop) and and in the 250s :) Surgery date August 3rd

Hi there! Our surgery was August 2nd. My husband has lost 42 lbs and I've lost 32 lbs and am in Onderland. So glad he agreed to do it with me.

Curious how you guys are doing. My husband is averaging almost 5 lbs a week! I'm chugging along at 3.2 lbs/week. I can see he will get to goal much faster than me although we both had almost the same amount to lose. He doesn't monitor anything either by the way. Eats Protein but there are a lot or Popsicles and whatnot going on with him, albeit sugar free, and it doesn't seem to be stopping his weight loss at all. I on the other hand monitor the crap out of everything. Seems a lot easier for him. Men! :)

He looks so good, and is so happy. Wonderful to see him go through this journey with me.

My husband was sleeved 5 weeks before me. I was sleeved on 7/18. As of today, he's lost 73 lbs. I am down 62 lbs. We seem to be losing at a similar pace. But for us, the weight loss is a happy by-product of our reasons for the surgery. After 10 years on Metformin, neither one of us is diabetic. No more high blood pressure. My kidney function is almost normal. Pre-surgery, I was looking at a second kidney biopsy.

Time will pass. Weight will come off. Our goal is healthy living. The scale will take care of itself.

Great attitude! My husband is off metformin for pre-diabetes, no more high blood pressure meds and no more high cholesterol meds. I feel so relieved knowing he's healthier. For me, I wasn't on any of those meds, but my thyroid dose was lowered, and I seem to be able to keep my joint inflammation somewhat in check and am able to exercise a little more so I'm very happy about that.

My hubs and I were sleeved 9/30.... Although we're only a few days out... It was awesome doing it together, although our journey has just begun! We were very lucky- we even got to share a room in the hospital, we I think put both of us more at ease!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
