How everyone is dealing with this. The worst part is that I did not realize that I have it until my daughter told me... Breath strips are not good enough and my doctor said no gum..

Well, I'm glad you brought it up. I was going to label a new topic, "Good, Bad, and Ugly Breath."

We were reading Protein contents on yogurt in the grocery Saturday, and my partner commented about smelling rottem milk or baby poo. Right after I said I don't smell it, she started laughing. The said she was afraid it was coming from me!

HORROR!!!

I've never been one to have bad breath! I got demerits all through school for chewing gum. I'm a singer and I always have a piece of gum in one cheek and a cough losenge in the other. I should own stock in Mentos Pure peppermint gum. Depending on what I'm doing, I have a two to six piece a day habit.

My doctor also said no gum. I didn't agree to that one. I think I've swallowed two pieces in the last thirty years. I'll be extra careful, but I'm not available to be the person people don't want to talk to or sing with. Nope.

Also, I brush a lot, four to six times a day, and I rinse with Listerine.

I'm with the Orbitz ad... Dirty mouth? Clean it up!

Mouth wash? sugar free breath mints? Avoid "close talking"?

The bad breath won't go away unless you correct the underlying problem. Gum' date=' brushing won't help![/quote']

Do you mean eat carbs again?

No. You cannot live the rest of your life in ketosis. Once your body drops out of ketosis the following things will happen:

* Ketones are a diuretic, so Water is being squeezed out. Dropping out of ketosis means you will likely put on a few pounds of Water weight

* Your breath will improve

* If you are feeling jittery, or having trouble sleeping in ketosis, that will disappear as well.

Here's a silly question: about how long does the ketosis state last? Or is it one of those "your mileage may vary" things? How about a ballpark range---six weeks, a month, two months?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
