August 2013 Roll Call

Recommended Posts

I get sleeved on the 14th. My biggest fear is the mental desire to eat things just bc I recall how good they taste. Have your desire or cravings for food vanished?

I have the Hosp preop today including the class, praying it all goes well.

Congrats on doing so well :)

I will tell you the head hunger never goes away. I just keep reminding myself that I did this for a reason and that the head hunger will only be temporary! It will get better! The shakes are the worst part but small sacrifices for large gains remember!

yeh I had to do the liquid diet. Honestly it is not that bad! You will be fine! I was SO worked up for this surgery. I cried the entire time before my surgery....I cried to my nurse....I cried to the anesthesiologist....I cried to my surgeon....and honestly....I was up and walking 2 hours after surgery. I am sore yes....but not AT ALL like I thought it would be! The pre diet gets easier after a couple of days and the liquid diet after surgery is completely supported by the hospital staff so they make it super easy! You will do great! IN my thoughts1

Thanks for the encouragement! Glad it all went well wit you too.

I'm 3 days post op today and I look and feel about 5 months pregnant from the tummy bloat! Anyone else experiencing this? I'm not sweating it, I'm sure it's totally normal after surgery, but wondered if something you did helped with the bloaties?

Sleeved!!! Surgery went well. I stayed 2 nights in the hospital, planned on one but I was so nauseated they kept me a second night as I wasn't drinking enough to go home. For me the worst part was the pain meds and anesthesia. when I asked for them to stop with the morphine, I felt 100% better. The pain is not that bad, maybe a 6. Glad to be over that hump!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
