Welcome all you newbies. I'm preop as well, but I have been on the forum for awhile. Just so you know, a lot of us have second Facebook accounts just for weight loss support. If you create one, look me up!! My username is amberVSG2013.

So glad you posted that about Facebook....was afraid I was the only one LOL But want to keep this off facebook. Welcome all our newbies.....I'm preop, but have been lurking for a few months. waiting on insurance....

Welcome to all, what a journey. I commend you ability to get out there before the big day, I found that wanted to document my process but was afraid that it want going to get the results that I wanted…. It did and continues to, bets choice I ever made (this and not drinking / partying anymore).

Well, I am a NEW newbie to this site. I am just starting my 90 day diet, trying out the Protein Drinks and trying to stay on track. Lots of appointments set, and the process moving right along. Hoping for a late Oct. or early Nov. surgery. I am gung ho ready for a life change toward a healthier me and being able to do active stuff with my kiddo. Doing pretty good thus far for the diet for a meat and potatoes person. I hope that my hate for veggies progresses into a love :D . Current weight 276 --> goal 170.

I'm so glad I have found this site. It has helped me so much and I've gained a lot of information. I have ONE test left until my surgery date is set. The test is an EGD, has anyone had it? I'm a little nervous about it. The plan is for an AUGUST surgery. I can't believe it is almost here. I am cash pay, my insurance would not pay a penny. All I want is that final date!!!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
