I'm so glad I read this while I'm pre-op.

A) Hopefully it will be a lesson to me when I start braving "real foods" again post-op.

and 2) If I had to laugh this hard with incisions, I'd probably pass out! :D

You're a great storyteller. Thank you for the giggles (and I'm sorry about your barnyard tie-dyed sundress)!crazy.giftoiletpaper.gifsmiley_caca.gif

I'm glad everyone can get some amusement from my woes. I figure if we can't laugh at ourselves, we'll go crazy :)

You poor thing! How traumatic for you and your hubby. I wonder if it was the lemonade or the beer cheese Soup?

Ok, so in the spirit of sharing, girl i hear you! I had terrible Constipation after surgery, still do and I'm in my 6th week post op. At 7 days, my doc recommended Miralax to get things moving without the harness of a pill laxative. I know it takes about a day or two before Miralax really gets you to "move" and i should have been keeping track. Day 2, I thought i was gonna fart (a rarity since surgery) and i said to hubby, "omg i have the worst fart coming!" (that's honestly how it felt! More like gas than anything solid). Well, lo and behold it was not gas. I said "oh crap. Honey i just shat on myself!" In the bed, mind you. Thankfully i had the presence of mind to clench my butt cheeks with relentless fervor before enough came out to get on the bed! Hubby literally had to carry me out the bed (one false move and it would have been smear city) and helped me to the bathroom. I felt awful, to which my hubby replied "this is our divorce insurance. you can never leave me now hahaha." We shared a tremendous laugh and I felt fine afterward. I texted my step-mom, with whom I have been chronicling my journey because her sister is considering a sleeve herself. I told her "Aunt Annette may think she has to fart after surgery. IT WILL NOT ALWAYS BE A FART!! HEAD FOR THE BATHROOM EVERY TIME!!!" She nearly wet herself laughing. Glad I could be stern warning if not a sterling example :D

That sounds exactly like something my hubby would have said! I'm glad we're not alone in being mortified. Thanks for sharing your story, too--I almost spit my loathsome Water out :)

I am so sorry you went through this!! Not fun AT ALL! I experienced the exact same "dumping syndrome" two weeks post op after drinking some kool aid that I thought was G2 gatorade- thankfully, I was at home!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
