Go to your doctor every time it happens!! That way it's documented in case you need skin removal surgery. It'll make the process much easier!!

Definitely do that, the surgeon told me in the meeting that if u document blistering or any skin issues due to sagging skin, insurance wud pay for a panniculectomy...look it up n gl:)

Best low cost option is Vaseline.

Something I use now and I've not had the surgery, just babies...but diaper rash cream works over night for me.

There's this baby ointment called Buttpaste. I put it on my face on cold windy days to keep from getting chapped and wind burnt. Swear it works like a charm. The name cracks me up though.

I use this as my make up primer also ha ha! Good ol' Pinterest. It's the same as the 60 dollar primer I was using prior.

Me too!

I'm with the diaper rash. God for something with Zinc Oxide in it. My grandma is 90 and used to get horrible blistering in the summer and that stops it completely.

powder works wonders! I used to get bad rashes, but the powder stops it. I've used Vagisil powder for years under my boobs, and fat flap. :-) Just dry it well after you shower, then put the powder on, it stays dry all day. If you are heavily sweating, summer heat or working out, you can add some later in the day, but usually just once in the morning is fine. You can get it at Walmart, Target, CVS, Rite Aid.

GOLD BOND *ULTIMATE* POWDER...keep clean and dry daily..u can put tissues or something cotton there if it will stay put. .should wick away the moisture...drying very very well after shower probably has the best impact...I've even used the hair dryer. .you learn a lot about taking care of that area after multiple c-sections

If it turns red, it could signal a yeast infection... yes men get them... if this is the case you'll need to go to your doctor and get a fungal pill and cream to get rid of it. To help stop it, use gold bond. It is the best I've found.

I've been dealing with this issue for years. FOR YEARS!!! I'm only 7 days post-surgical. First off, do report this to your DR every time, you want it documented as this is a good medical reason for skin removal down the road. Now to actually deal with the issue. I've done a great many things over the years, some have worked better than others, but the most important thing to me was 1) my comfort and 2) that I didn't smell bad to others (very highly possible). Now I wash 2 times a day, every day (sometimes more in the sweaty summer months). I always use feminine body wash (any brand will do) I use in under my belly in the groin area and under my breasts, pretty much anywhere you have a skin on skin issue. The next most important thing is to thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly, dry the skin on skin areas. The absolute best way is with a hair dryer on low. I can not stress enough how important the drying is. Now if I'm already broken out in a rash (sometimes not matter what you do, it still occurs) I use a cream the DR prescribes for me, it is called Clotrimazole/Betamethasone. After drying well, I'll use this cream, and if I'm currently broken out it usually clears it within a day or two, and then I go back to just my washing and drying routine. Now if things are really bad, and it can get really bad, swollen, painful and smelly, then I do all of this and also cut up a clean white cotton t-shirt into appropriate size strips and lay them between the skin folds or under my bra or wherever to keep the skin on skin from happening. The absolute worse things you can do is 1) ignore it, 2) use ANY kind of powder (the reason is one because it gets pastey and nasty, and two if it's yeast, then the yeast eats the sugar in the powder, most especially corn starch.) 3) keeping it moist using vaseline or other lubes, this will only prolong the healing process. Let me know how you make out trying these tips. Oh one last thing, if you are sqeamish about using feminine body wash, then a regular antibacterial wash will work as well, although I sometimes find these can burn pretty good if you are in a good break out. Good Luck!!!!

I have learned so much on these boards. I never knew women had to put powder under their breast. The saying... you learn something new everyday still holds true. :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
