I'm not sure how long it takes...some people I have spoken with get theirs approved within 48-72 hours. I wonder what's the longest someone has had to wait.....ugh!! LOL but as they say good things come to those who wait :)

Mine was supposedly submitted on 3/20 and I called my Dr office every week, finally on 5/3 I called my insurance company directly and they said they had never received it....don't know where my surgeons office sent it...or IF they did on 3/20, but I jumped on them, they resubmitted it 5/3, got denial 5/16 because some forms were missing, appealed 5/17 with the missing forms (which the surgeon had but failed to send in the first time) and approved 5/20!

Major point here.....follow up directly with your insurance company to be sure it was submitted and is being reviewed right away...then you magi get approved quicker than I did. My surgery is next week June 26!! Good luck to all of you!

Ok, so I called my insurance today and asked if they received my paperwork. The rep told me that they showed the surgeons office had contacted them yesterday, but they did not show anything else in the system.....so what now? Should I call the office or call insurance in the morning and recheck?

I am with you waiting on dr to send everything to insurance company. I work in insurance billing so I know what they are dealing with and I don't want to hassle the lady at my surgeons office. But, it is so hard to be patient. I hope you hear something soon,

I would give them tomorrow to get it in, maybe they called to get the fax number and are getting the paperwork together...there is a lot of it.....if your insurance company does not show that they received the fax by tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning, then I would call the surgeons office.....just my opinion

Good luck!! :-)

I just found out that I was approved by calling the insurance company. So I called my office coordinator just to find out that she is out of the office until Friday. It's only two more days to wait for a date but it feels like FOREVER!!

Yay!! I know what you mean. I found out the thursday before memorial day, but had to wait till the Tuesday after to schedule mine! It was torture!! Then they could have done it on 6/17 but I wanted to wait until after my son's final lacrosse tournament this coming weekend.....so I have mine next week. Worth the wait though.....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
