I was just sleeved June 11th. I made a Protein Shake tonight and as I was drinking it I had extreme gas. Went to shower so I could change bandage on my drain. My body got so fatigued I couldn't finish my shower. I am tired, my body aches, I can't stand for a long period of time. Is this normal? Is it dumping from trying cottage cheese too soon? What is wrong with me? I am in tears, did I make a mistake?

You are already eating cottage cheese?? Gees...that's not on my eating list until 20 days out. With you only being 4 days out, I would think you'd still be on Clear liquids only...but I know every doc is different.

Either way, I'm not sure that caused your fatigue. Are you getting in your fluids? Hope you feel better soon.

And "dumping" would equal you being on a toilet as your body "dumps" your stomach's contents.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time. Chances are that everything is fine. Keep in mind that you just went through a major surgery. Your body is using all of its resources to recover. That leaves very little energy left over for everyday activities. Don't worry, a little at a time, day by day, you'll start to regain your energy. Hang in there!

I tried the cottage cheese. Could have been a mistake. I am not sure what is causing the fatigue. Thanks

I was incredibly tired but not to that extreme. I did take 2 naps a day the first week and 1 nap a day the second week.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
