Sleeved April 3rd Hello!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I was sleeved on April 3rd 2013 and like many of you I have been heavy pretty much my entire life. In High school and early college it was not a huge deal as I played football and I could eat a house and still stay the same weight and as a lineman I needed some "bulk". After football was over for me though I still ate like I was playing and the pounds just packed on one after another.

3ish years ago I started looking at WLS and had to go on the 6 month diet and at that time I was 418 pounds. I proceeded to lose 130 and at the half way mark to that I decided I didn't need the surgery. Fast forward to this year I ended up gaining back till I was at 362 and decided I had enough of the up and down.

At the first doc visit I was 362 then day of surgery after the 2 week pre op diet I was at 343. Today I am at 296 for a total of 66 pounds so far. Right now my goal is to get to 240 and then see where I am and decide if I need to lose more or not.

The surgery was uneventful for the most part except for the usual uncomfortable feelings that come with it. I have also been lucky in that I have not been sick from anything I have ate and hope it stays that way.

My surgery was on April 2nd, I am doing well as well...congrats on your weight loss, that is awesome..I've only lost 38 lbs since surgery but I have a lower BMI so I'm not too bummed about it yet..So far I haven't had any problems with food either and have never thrown up once, luckily..Hopefully by this time next year we will be at goal weight! good luck..

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
