My doctor does an oversew of the staple line but there are many quality surgeons who do not. My doctor believes it helps prevent leaks.. Other doctors choose not to do the oversew because they believe

  • Is this an issue??? I mean are there doctors that don't stitch over the staples??

I seriously HOPE not! That's a top priority in picking a surgeon IMO - find out how they do the surgery!

That was one of the 1st questions I asked in a few different Dr's seminars....

I think I might need to take a break from the forums....It's getting me really worked up!

Really? Well I have nothing bad to say about him

Because I know he's a quality surgeon.

Weird I just assumed they all stitched....

I knew my dr did because I watched a few personal videos .. But at the same time, all the others videos I watched they stitched too. I just assumed all did.

I saw a pic of 2 new tummies last night & not a bruise.....ME, I looked like someone tried to freakin' kill me!

LOL... My daughter and I had lapband surgery at the same time and I hardly bruised and she looked like she went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Everyone is different

Ms.AntiBand,

I swear I was like...how in the hell did they come out with NO bruises?

Trust me.. I didn't fair so well on my last surgery! When I showed my daughter my bruises from the VSG... She got the biggest smile, lol. Sweet child I have, huh ;)

Oh she's a DOLL! ;)

Molly I saw you posts last night about the bruising.. Girl a lot of people bruise it has nothing to do with the doctor! That one girl that posted her belly pictures she looked great! Oh and her incisions? My scars still don't look that good 7 months out :(

I'm very confident in My Surgeon! I just get worked up when I hear or see something that's not the norm for me...I need to relax & enjoy my journey!
