Tablets causing the nausea

Recommended Posts

I wanted to know if anyone else on metformin 1000mg x 2 and micardis 40mg x 1 a day gets sick in the morning?

The only way I can describe it as is its like food poisoning.

It starts about an hr after I've eaten and an hr after taking meds.

I know it's the meds because I've tried eliminating them one by one!

If you have had this what did you do?

I'm on meteor in 850mg x2 (was x 3 before surgery), lisinopril, lopid x2 and more damn supplements tan I even want to think about. I have had trouble feeling sick after I take everything and honestly take so many morning pills that I can't eat right after because there is no room. Have tried taking with super Protein drink (unjury and skim milk = 30+ grams of protein) and still feel slightly sick but not as bad as food poisoning.

That is the most common side effect of metformin. Ask your doctor about the extended release formula.

i noticed the b100 complex gave me nausea, i stopped taking it and nausea stopped, i have started metformin 850 2x day about 6 mo ago and it was for ovary cysts, i notice if i just take it once a day i feel better, but i have been feeling nausea more in the last 3 months that i did the first year after surgery, i did some reading after i was in hospital for heart attack like symptoms and light headiness nausea, chest feeling like u been running when u jsut sitting, are all heart attack related things that lead up to heart attack. so for me it explains alot, i got nausea with or without metformin

It's sounds like you've had a rough trot. I'm just tinkering around with it a bit to see if it changes anything.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
