The 5:2 diet

Recommended Posts

Susan said she was going to try to move this entire thread over there to the groups.

I approved you, so you can go in there now, and I started a thread, in case Susan can't move this over there.

Yeah, I like to have a light night snack of 100 calorie pack of cocoa dusted almonds. not on fast days. So I've been trying to eat Breakfast at 11

Does a baby bell light have less calories than a string cheese?

Babybel light has 50 calories so I'd say yes depending in your string cheese.

The laughing cow light wedges are around 35 calories.

Same. Laughing cow wedge has less 35 vs 50

Also done for the day, 510 calories today. It was a rough one today, but I made it!

I also joined, but I think we have to wait for Oregon to approve us all.

I have a hard time with medication and Vitamins as well. I have to drink milk when taking my Vitamins and take them before I eat anything or else I just about throw them back up. So I end up having to take in a few extra calories just to take them! Do you have to take the medication in the morning, or can it be taken with your lunch?? Maybe if you can switch around the time you take it, it would be easier.

I am not sure how you find the group to post in it. I had to go to my profile and it said groups on it.

I accidentally created 2 of them. I messaged Susan to fix it.

I started a thread "how was your 5:2 day? Susan said she might be able to move our 5:2 thead here over there.

I went to my groups under profiles and it said I am not part of any groups. Nor did I find any way to add groups. I had to do this on the web app because the iPad app is fairly limited in profile options. A little help?

I think I just accidentally requested to join (and 'followed') both of the groups you created, OD. So when you delete one, hopefully I end up in the right one. LOL. FWIW, I can't see a thread in either of the groups (though I know I'm not a full member yet), so even if people 'follow' the group, I guess they won't see posts unless they are actually members. ?

OMG, yesterday had to be like 5000 calories in the end, no joke. I got the recipe for the flourless chocolate cake -- it was made of cream, butter, chocolate, sugar and eggs LOL. I had two pretty large pieces, one was 'breakfast' along with a pear and a bunch of coffee with cream. Then my 'book group' (read: wine-drinking, work-complaining, girls-night-out group) was last night and I had beef, tartar sauce, fries, wine aplenty... I have to be better on my non-fasting days if I expect this to work LOL. :D I'm v. bad, do NOT be like me!!!

Re: eating/taking meds, I consider the milk in my morning coffee as 'food' for medication-taking purposes. Possibly I'm fooling myself, but I hate breakfast and almost never eat until at least 11 if not lunch...

ETA: Having people over to ours for dinner tonight, serving roast chicken, green salad and potato salad cos it's finally hot-ish here. Tiny Magnums for dessert. Copious wine with all, I'm sure. Sigh. Tomorrow night open-air jazz festival, ditto on the food/drink. Good god, I am going to need to do a 2:5 to catch up...!

Well it's early and I'm up!! Don't even have to be up. Why am I up?? Because I'm OBSESSED with food. I did well on my fast yesterday but went to bed dreaming of Peanut Butter.

I woke up at 5 am and at 5:45 couldn't take it anymore, yes at 5:50 you could find me in the kitchen spoon in hand and clutching a Peanut Butter container. >.<

Good morning VST.

Hehehe... I like the 2:5 :D I might have to do that too!

OK, I think I have the group thing figured out. Oregon, Laura and I are all on the right one...I think. Once Oregon approves you to join, you can post. You have to click on the side where it is says "Group Navigation" on the right. There is a heading called group discussion. If you click on it, it brings up the threads. Oregon started one, I posted a reply to it. You can see the threads but cannot post until you are approved to join.

You should be able to find the group by looking under the community tab at the top, and click on social groups. It is called eating the 5:2 way and has 3 members.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
