Elliptical Machine

Recommended Posts

I absolutely love Elliptical Machines and I want to purchase one for home. I found one online called the Reebok RL 900 Elliptical Machine. I can't find any reviews @ all for this particular Elliptical Machine. Is anyone familiar w/this brand?

Does anyone know of any particular brands they can recommend? This is the 1st piece of large exercise equipment that I have ever purchased that needs to be put together. I am wondering are there people you can hire to put these things together or should if be simple enough for me to put together. Also, I am wondering if I move, will I have to take it apart or is it moveable.

Oh, and I am looking for a machine that has a 350 lb capacity. And if anyone is interested, I found this one on Amazon and they have the free shipping thing going on.

Thanks!!!

I bought a Nordic Track Elliptical last year. I did a lot of shopping around. If you love the elliptical machine at the gym which is most likely a Precor you really want to get the features you like about that. You definately get what you pay for. I looked for one with adjustable resistance and incline. I think I paid about $900 for it. I got it at sears and they delivered it and put it together.

Thanks a lot for replying. I will check out those machines.

The one that I am looking @ getting is on sale for $799.00 w/free shipping. I finally told some really good reviews on epinions.com. Now I am just concerned about where to put it.

I opted for a smaller one because of space and price, and I am not as happy with it. I love the elliptical also but I agree you get what you pay for.

I have an elliptical, but darn if I can remember the brand right now. I left the stickers off when DH and I put it together.

BUT, I can recommend that if it's possible........test the machine out before you buy it. I find that each company and each model for that matter, fits YOU differently. You must be comfortable on the machine. If not, you may not use it.

Also, if you buy it at a store they can put it together for you and deliver it. Usually there's a charge involved. I couldn't tell you about moving. I would venture to guess the "moving guys" could take care of that as well. :-)

Yes please try them out before you buy. All the major sports stores that sell them and even Sears had floor models to try out. I probably got on about a dozen before I bought.

I have a Precor machine, and love it. It's an investment, but I believe you get what you pay for. Mine has the adjustable elevation, but stationary arms. They delivered it to my basement and set it up for me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
