I'm at Tobey in Wareham, way down south of you, (or should I say "y'all"? :D ) and waiting to get my date, too. Good luck!

Tanya,

I am really excited. Did you get a date yet? Maybe we will see each other during the 8 week post-op program.

Hey there... How was your program? Did you have to take classes and does yours require the 2 week liquid diet?

Yes, NSMC makes us go through a 4 week Pre-op program and then we have to do a 2 week liquid Pre-op diet. After surgery we have an 8 week Post-op program we have to go though.

Support groups are also offered once a month. I have found them very informative.

Which dr is preforming your surgery? Is the liquid diet dreadful?

I don't have a date yet' date=' I should have one sometime next week.[/quote']

Dr. Benedetto is doing my surgery. The liquid diet isn't to bad. You can have 3 carnation instant milks with Simply Smart milk, 1 Greek yogurt a day, and a small portion of fruit each day. I'm feeling great. Today I feel like a cheese pizza slice. :(

If you don't hear on Monday, give them a call. I had to call.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
