Still Pre-op and trying to be patient

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm new here My name is Della, I'm just going to vent for a minute! I am a little aggravated at the psychiatrist that did my eval! He basically put words in my mouth, he would ask questions and then answer them for me like, did you have anything traumatic happen in your child hood that you think about on a daily basis, I did I was raped at the age of fifteen, and he proceeds to tell me I made myself fat so I would be less desirable! I told him no , and he said well on a unsubconcious level I must have! I have PCOS AND HAVE DIETED FOR A YEAR WITH OUT ANY RESULT ! So now after all my paper work is ready to be sent in, I might have to see him at his office before I can do surgery! But I already have a therapist! Just aggravated! Thank you for letting me rant! I love this site! I hope I will make lots of new friends on here. I just finished my three month nutrition requirement and they are suppose to be sending my packet off today, for eval and approval! Please say a little prayer for me!

This same exact situation happened to my sister in law... She changed over to my dr, which was also a different psych dr and she flew through everything fine! Maybe a option for you too :). Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
