Well - not that anyone gives a rip' date=' but I have avoided this place for a few weeks now due to the never ending ridiculousness and adolescent bickering. Now this does not apply to everyone. There are people here that are somewhat rational and realize this is an online community and really it doesn't matter what opinions are shared - you know who you are if you fit into this category.

Other than this small percentage of rational people we have this:

Group A - Those who are the self appointed sleeve police who just wait for their chance to scold, humiliate, or otherwise ramble on endlessly in their usual holier-than-thou, know it all fashion, and:

Group B -Those who ask about Dominoes at 24 hours post op and whatever else they can possibly think of, most likely just to rouse the reactions of Group A.

Myself? I'm in the middle. I haven't been a "play by the rules or else" die-hard nor have I been a "eat with reckless abandon" idiot. I chose what I wanted and didn't really care what anyone thought. And guess what? I am losing at a slow rate that I am happy with. It's healthier than fast weight loss, I don't feel deprived, and so far do not have any loose, hanging skin that comes from super fast weight loss. I'm looking pretty good, I feel good, my self confidence is high, and I still don't care what anyone thinks. I am extremely happy not reading the constant bickering and mindless drivel. And like I said - if this doesn't apply to you - you know who you are. If you have any doubts, then YES - I mean you. I may pop in later and i may not. I may go outside and have a look at this very beautiful day and not give a second thought to any of the potential replies I will get to this post. Either way - keep it up sleevers. Bicker, belittle, preach - whatever. Makes no difference in the big scheme of things anyway.[/quote']

Mmmm. Voodoo donuts. Love the name. Anti band and I are going to have to take a field trip to our local frost and have fun observing the weird donut creations they have. If I were eating donuts (has it been 13 months since the last?!?! Wow), I would be eating more of the standard apple fritters, but aim for super high quality stuff. Not the cheap imitations from sub standard donut shops (maybe Dunkin donut? Not sure they fall under this umbrella) or even grocery stores (eg albertsons, Safeway, etc). Top donuts all the way!!

I went for a long time as the standard "Sleeve Master". I am not into B&D so I did not dig it but didn't know how to change it. A sleever said I reminded him of a hippy uncle, full of mystical sayings and quite eccentric. I was "Apple" in the 60's, a painted guru and self-absorbed cloud flyer.

I was sufficiently flattered and found out how to change that part:

Click the little arrow by your name in the upper right, My Settings, scroll down, fill in blank in front of Member Title

I clicked on the drop down screen arrow by my name (top right in window), selected My Settings. I see no selection called "Member Title." Is there another missed step?

You hit the little arrow, choose My Settings, on the page that comes up you scroll down, hopefully you will see what is in the picture where I have typed "your hippy uncle".

Another forumite can't find it either. Maybe I'm privileged. B)

Family managed to get three Cronuts this morning during an early morning trip to manhattan. Kids loved them but wife wasn't that impressed but said they were ok. She's a pastry chef by profession.

All of this blather assumes that there is one correct answer that is universally applicable to sleevers (and all we have to do is debate until we hit on it???) Puh-leeze. 1.) There is no MORAL content in eating decisions, unless you are stealing your food or have killed someone to get it. Absent those two circumstances, whether you are big, small, or getting smaller, it's ALWAYS your own damn business what you eat. 2.) Well wishers whom we love ("Please lose weight for your health") and docs, and nutritionists, mostly have not experienced this surgery personally. Their advice and in-put needs to be heard with that fact in mind. That is, "When YOU burp 423 times a day, I'll gladly take your advice about what I should be eating." 3.) STOP BEING OBSESSED BY REACHING YOUR GOAL WEIGHT. Many poor people are slaves to their scales, to the exclusion of all other signs of health. If your weight is stalled but you've lost clothing sizes, then you are gaining muscle in place of fat as a result of exercise. This is a good thing. Muscle WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT. How are your other health indicators? BP, blood glucose, blood lipids? These things will tell you much more accurately about your health and life expectancy than the scale. I guess all this is coming from reading comments from people who have apparently made no step forward after being sleeved and having lost a good bit of weight. These poor souls are STILL in the old mind set of ridiculous diets (Fasting days???Are you kidding me???), counting every calorie of every bite, and on and on. It's a new day, folks. Your stomach is the size of my thumb! Get a grip. Of COURSE you should eat healthful foods. We all should have done that all our lives. That's a no brainer, and it's true of fat people, thin people, athletes, infants, and the elderly. Eat decent food cuz it's good for you. But for heaven's sake, GET A LIFE other than obsessing about your body. If you've lost a bunch of weight, you look and feel better. Stop with the "I just can't go on unless I get to goal." Go out and get a volunteer job. Read to the blind. Feed the hungry. Take up a hobby (other than your own inner directed search for bodily perfection.) Spend more time with your kids or grandkids. Whew! I feel much better now.

Hmmmmm

i'm seriously kindof afraid to comment on your question :o

when you/anyone asks a ? they need to tell the truth, to help you - for your benefit

some people give an honest answer with no hint of being rude or stuff like that

some people might unintentionally be harsher to get their point across

you gotta remember we're all talking through a computer/monitor - we can't see peoples faces

it is too easy to misunderstand something said - and it wasn't meant to be received in a bad way

there are those "people" out there in "foodland" who kindof start "issues" and aren't that "sleeve friendly" with their answers :angry:

I think those situations are far and few between

even though i've seen similar comments like yours regarding to "being afraid of people on the board"

i think most of us are good eggs - some are just more cracked than others :lol:

give us another chance, ok????

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
