Wow. Just wow.

What a huge difference and I am impressed. You look FABULOUS.

Congratulations on your new journey. :)

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I worked hard for that body underneath of the skin, and I am very pleased with the work he did to help me be who I am!

warning~

Long read, lots of info~

These are some questions that I have been asked, and I am going to post them here, so that others can read and benefit from them~

*Breasts~

Right now, I am not sure what size accurately. I am done swelling in my breasts I think, but they are still dropping, and they will fluff a bit after they drop, and settle in, so I could gain up to 2 sizes. Right now I wear bras that are 36dd today~ It' changes daily! There are some bras I can wear that are 36D, some 38dd, 36ddd, it just depends on the day. I am mostly wearing sports bras, size 36bands when I don't have to wear an actual bra, because I still wear my band to push the implants down. I Only wear a real bra when I go out.

*I was a 44ddd before sleeve~

I was a 38d before plastics

I am about a 36dd now. We'll see when it's all said and done!

*He used 350 CC, but everyone has a different amount of breast tissue, so you can't go by how many CCs someone else gets~

*No my stomach does not lay flat when I bend. I learned a lot through this, that weight loss patients are much different with plastics than regular women that have not had their bellies poked full of holes. What I have read and learned from Drs is that in order to preserve the blood flow, and not disrupt those scars from the arthroscopic surgeries, (SLEEVES) they must not pull too tight, or separate the walls of the upper tummy too much! There is so many differences in where our scars lay and how much skin is removed, how much blood loss, etc....SO many variables! Too many to compare to someone elses surgery! Your skin and body will react how your skin and body will react.

*My vag is higher now yes. A lot higher, my hair line now goes all the way up to the Tummy Tuck line. (incision) So yes, it was raised, as well my thighs were. I would NOT pay for a thigh lift until after I have my tummy tuck if I were doing it again because you'll get a certain amount of lift, especially if you use a wonderful artist/surgeon like I did. (NEIBLES) (NIEBLES) Can you tell I love that man! :-)

*I personally would NOT have an arm lift at the same time as all I had done. I USED my arms like crazy to pull myself up, and to get myself around. I needed those arms, and as flabby as they are, I am SURE glad I didn't get the arms done at the same time! NO WAY JOSE!

*I'm 36 years old...wait 37 I think now....I am 5ft1 on a tall day. I was a 24W pre sleeve, and I was a 4/6 pre plastics. I am now a solid 4. When I am done with compression garments, I will try on all my clothes, because right now I can't tell what's tight and what's not...(numbness) .....BUT I can tell you that when I put my size 4s on, I can fit both hands inside the waist with my torso....so I think I may be going down to a size 2 and the solid 4. No more 6s.

*I have a passport. I personally didn't want any MORE stresses or unknowns with thesurgery. I wanted what I COULD control to be controlled, and taken care of. SO YES I suggest a passport.

*My husband was with me the entire time, yes, again I would not have it ANY other way, and neither would HE. He took care of me after my sleeve, and this was no different. Too many unknowns to go there alone. I know everyone is different, and some people could handle it maybe, but why have more stress and anxiety. Nope, I take him everywhere. He would not in a million years ever let me go that kind of thing alone.

*My husband did all of my aftercare. NO he is not in the medical field. He is in TV of all things! LOL. But I am not suggesting that you don't have a Dr lined up, I'm just sharing the information that someone who does not have a medical background CAN take your stitches out, and they can take your drains out, and if you really pay attention to the instructions from the Dr, your companion will feel confident about doing it. I will go see my Dr in a week or so, and have my Vitamin panel run (as I do at least quarterly) but I have not seen a Dr yet. My incision is all healed. As of today, I have no open sores, no open incision line, NO nothing! I'm 5 weeks today. I can FINALLY take a bath tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any other questions, please ask, I will answer honestly!

I am curious how the scars look. Would you mind sending photos of that so I can see? I have to have some of those same surgeries and am very concerned about scaring. I had boobs done back in 2005 and need to get them done again as well because of their age. I need thigh lift, Tummy Tuck, and but lift. How was recovery?

This made me very happy :) I am 5 ft 8 in tall but I wear around a size 24w as you did in the beginning, I will be 36 years old (November) so it makes me feel good knowing someone semi close to my size and age has had such a great outcome!! I have said all along I've gotta start saving now for when it is time for the body tucks lol but I'm glad to know you were not just tons of skin hanging to your knees lol sorry its a fear even though I don't believe there's actually that much there :) thank you so much for sharing!!!

I get my wonderful life changing sleeve in mid July!!! I'm so excited to start this journey!

I'm only 5 weeks as of yesterday- so I'm still in recovery- so we'll see at the end of 6-8-12 months- that's how long it takes for everything to settle. Especially with a weight loss patient. Look back through my posts here, I answered some similar questions about the recovery.

I will take photos of my scars as soon as I get the okay to not wear my compression garment 24-7. Right now I wear it as prescribed by my Dr- and I am very strict about it (probably why I have healed so quickly with no issues to my incisions) so when I have the compression garment on- it leaves a ton of lines up and down- and across- so it's not a fair representation of how I really look.

My scars look great- very light pink- and have healed beyond what my PS or I thought they would be only 5 weeks out. BUT you must remember- EVERY persons body is different- some people scar very dark, their pigment is different, their diet is different, their HYGENE is different, their healing is different- so you can't really accurately compare yourself to anyone.

If you're wondering about them being even, or straight, mine are. Dr Neibles did a kick butt job getting my tummy scar low.... And straight. It's hidden by a string bikini- that's all I cared about!

My breasts are even and the scars are HAIRline thin! He did a great job with 99% of the sutures being under my skin and inside, and the lines are just beautiful for having my entire breasts reconstructed! I'd show my nipples, but I don't want them to get flagged off of here, or for me to get booted for that :-)

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
