That is so funny to read. I know someone that does that. She is VERY slim. When she is done, she doesn't want to keep eating a bite here and there, so she makes it nasty. lol

I liked that idea a lot also!

Hey - at a buffet - there is no "cost of wasted food" cause it's the same price no matter what you eat.

If you go to a restaurant and can't order a small portion and you don't want to take it as leftovers - you just get used to it over time.... some food is going to be thrown away.

As a dieting ploy in years gone by - I used to struggle to force myself to leave at least one bite on the plate....

Now, I just get over the fact that sometimes I leave half a plate behind.

It's only money. It can't compare to the value on my health.

:]

Hey, we can learn a thing or two from some of our slim friends. I realized just recently that I now eat just like my petite friend, Terry. She always takes tiny bites and small portions. She's a bit of a gourmet, in that she won't eat unless it's something "worth" eating, but on the other hand, she never deprives herself of something that she really wants. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have those tendencies *without* having surgery?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
