Is ok to eat a taco. Soft or hard?

Recommended Posts

I forgot my lunch today. I am 5 weeks post op. I haven't had a problem with food going down so far.

Is it ok if I eat a soft taco from Taco Bell. Actually, a soft chicken taco. I can handle tortilla chips fine so far...I don't go over board.

On the brighter side. My 2 week stall has finally ended! Woo hoo

None of us can tell you if it's ok or not :( sorry

But soft tortillas are harder on the stomach than something crunchy...

Not sure what you stage is but a lot of people here like Wendy's chili in a pinch..

Or at Taco Bell do they have Beans?

Scape everything out of the tortilla and just eat the that, it's best to skip the tortilla.

Oh that's an idea... But I would take the lettuce out too. Lettuce is really tough on new stomachs..

I am 7 weeks post op and also have had no problems with food; I had a soft taco the other day from taco bell and did fine. I ordered it with no lettuce and then I ripped most of the soft shell off as only the bottom of the taco had the meat and cheese in it and I did fine. Good luck.

I was so consumed with eating a taco about 6 weeks out that I bought one and discovered I hated the tortilla... I don't eat food stuff that has corn in it because when they want to fatten up our beef, they feed them corn. So I avoid corn like a plague..... As for flour tortilla's, I don't eat them either. They don't taste like they use too. I go to El Pollo local and get the chicken tortilla Soup and skip the tortilla strips. I also make sure I don't eat the corn in there.

I am 15 weeks out and I can eat a crispy taco, minus lettuce. I cannot eat flour tortillas at all. Very painful. I agree that the side of Beans would be best or as Laura says -- eat whatever is on the inside -- except lettuce if it bothers you. I was not cleared to eat raw veggies at 5 weeks out.

I am 12 weeks out . . .I've had both, but I can't eat the entire thing just a couple of bites. Tried to heat it up later & it was yucky...so I'm wasting my money really...

If I'm in a pinch I go with the meximelt from tacobell. Ground beef, melted cheese, and tomato! Amazing and I eat just a few bites, save the rest for later.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
