What made you come to the conclusion that the VSG was for you? How did you decide that you were making the right decision? Knowing that your life would change forever, how did you prepare yourself for this?

I knew it was right for me because I didn't want any objects in my body...the thought if losing a huge portion of your stomach is frightening but it beats the alternative...growing health conditions and trouble sleeping and walking

when i started searching wls I had 3 choices bypass which had long term mal-absorption problems and stretching of the pouch, lap band which was a foreign object in my already hypersensitive body not to mention it can slip , erode your esophagus, last was vsg , leak infection but no future issues. I made my final decision on what my future would be like with wls. everyone is different though. My Mom wants to get lapband because it is not permanent if something goes wrong she can reverse it. I think that's the scariest part about vsg its non-reversable. That is what I wanted a permanent solution that required little maintenance and complications. Good luck on what ever surgery you choose :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
