Anyone else getting sleeved on May 31 2013?

Recommended Posts

I am also getting my surgery on May 31st. Are you on a pre-op liquid diet that's been the hardest part for me. After six months of nutrition meetings and diet finally getting this done. The psych evaluation was probably the strangest thing I've ever done.

Not scared my nerves are kind of bad I just want it to get here already. The fact you don't have to do a liquid diet makes me jealous although after the first two days it really didn't effect me all that much.

Also I forgot to mention if you haven't already gotten a Protein supplement try Iso100 it had 25gm of protein per serving with no carbs or sugar and doesn't taste that bad. I actually like it. I mix it with skim milk it's not bad. Hope this info helps

I feel like I am behind lol. I have a 4 hour pre op appointment on Wednesday from 8-12 maybe I will get my Protein shake their? I also meet the surgeon the night before on Thursday to go over questions.

I am using the Oband center of Las Vegas.

Maybe ill put myself on a liquid diet. What are the benefits?

Most doctors believe the liquid diet shrinks your liver and abdominal cavity. This is to help them in surgery. Also they say the Protein assists in your recovery. It's not a bad idea if you decide to do it. It actually prepares your mind for post-op. Stay positive your new healthy you is only days away.

Yeah the liquid diet does put you in the right mind set and its only tough for the first couple of days. My surgeon had Protein Shakes I could buy but they cost $40 for a case of 30 I went to The Vitamin Shopee and got a tub of the powder for $35 last about the same amount of time but if you get the powder you can mix it with skim milk to add more flavor also with fruit to make smoothies. And I get the "what if's" everybody has those I think at least I have. Just got to keep thinking positive and remember why you chose to do this.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
