I go where the best and most experienced surgeons are... And that means I trust my MX dr over many in the states. But I never say to anyone that I would not go to a specific place because of hear-say. That's a bit naive.

Mexico is something I don't want. I want something in my own state and in my town if I can where my family can be by my side. I don't want to take a plane anywhere and I've had friends get breast implants in Mexico and didn't like it. Ill pay more to stay put.

I went to Mexico and had the gastric sleeve done my doctor worked for the San Diego hospital but also was a surgeon at the hospital Angeles. My surgery was on October 12, 2012 And i have lost year to date is 104 pounds. I had no insurance so I paid cash and I thank my dr on a weekly basis for what he has done to improve my health. Dr huacuz is amazing.

I just scheduled my breast lift/reduction for July 1st (woo hoo!). I am using a local plastic surgeon (I live in the Seattle area). It will cost $6,250. I also got quotes for a neck lift and Tummy Tuck and those procedures each run between $6K and $6.5K. I am planning to do two surgeries this year (breast lift/reduction and then at the holidays a lower body lift); next year I'm going for a neck lift and the arms. Altogether I figure I'm going to pay enough on plastics buy a car! LOL.

I'm seriously thinking of going to Mexico for at least one of the procedures ... I had my sleeve done in Mexico and know I can receive outstanding care there, with the right surgeon, and it's true you can save at least 30% compared to US prices.

I just got a quote from a plastic surgeon that my VSG surgeon recommended. Basically the quote was $10K for the breast lift and about $12K for the Tummy Tuck.< /p>

Are you able to share some good plastic surgeons in the Seattle area? I do not have much to do. If anything a TT, but I want to get a consult to see if it is even necessary or if it will just go away with enough core strength training.

Hi, I am using Dr. Kierney who is based in Puyallup (near Tacoma, in case you're on the north end of Seattle and not sure where Puyallup is!). Here is a link to his website. http://washingtoncosmeticsurgeon.com/

I found him through Angie's List (he was very highly rated) and I liked the consult he gave; he made me feel at ease (trust me, NOT easy to do when you have to take off nearly all your clothes in front of a total stranger!). I thought his prices were reasonable. I got to see lots of before and after photos of procedures he's done and am comfortable he will do good work on me. He spent a good hour with me and told me exactly what the risks/benefits/likely outcomes would be. Also, he was very very low pressure. I liked that a lot.

Thanks for the information. Appreciate it! I am on the North side of Seattle in Lake Stevens / Everett area, but am open to anything down to Tacoma. What would dr kier et charge for a Tummy Tuck. My extra tummy is pretty small, but still noticeable. It would be a perfect package if I did not have the little lip below my stomach, that it was perfectly smooth.

I also am looking at Dr Robert Grenley with Seattle Plastic Surgery based on a google search:

http://www.seattleplasticsurgery.com/

I have NO IDEA how to find a qualified doctor for TT short of going on the recommendations of others. I originally picked Seattle Swedish for VSG based on a recommendation from a family member who was banded by them. They have been nothing short of a really excellent experience from pre op through current post op.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
