My doctor's plan is so restrictive. I wish that there was a standard plan for everyone. I'm down 120 in 7 months. 10 pounds till goal weight of 135...so I don't think the Jello will hurt me but so afraid. Will check with my doctor. Thanks you.

I read about what your dietitian recommended..

Something with Protein and healthy fats like the almonds would be good.. It might help with you dizzy spells too..

I know it's hard to add more food!

But add something with nutrition.

Measure out a small serving of nuts or

Plain Greek yogurt ( i add one splenda) with a couple of blue berries..

It doesn't have to be a lot more food, just add one more "small" snack but make it count.

What are you afraid of? At 7 months out you should be able to eat anything. My goodness you have lost a lot of weight very fast. Time to start going into maintenance and trying some different foods.

SF Jell-O was on my clear liquid list, and Dr. Davidson was very cautious for the first six weeks. The good thing is I could count it as a liquid.....so I was thankful for that. The first few weeks, I didn't want to eat but made myself, lime Jell-O was good though. I ate because I had to, it was great!

7 months out, 127 lbs down and you haven't even tried Jello yet??? What have you been eating? The hospital was shoving that in my face 24 hours after surgery. In now down 167 lbs in 6 1/2 months and have tried everything under the sun. I have become a firm believer that you can eat ANYTHING as long as its in very careful moderation. I just had a small handful of M & M's and I bet I still lose a half to full pound by the time I weigh myself In the morning. Losen up a bit, it will help you succeed in the long run.

My doctors plan is very restrictive and I am not about to go against his plan when I have come so far and done so well. I am glad that you are able to eat what you want in moderation, but please don't judge me for following what my doctor said to do.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
