Our Problem is...

Recommended Posts

Okay. Im a little unnerved that i keep seeing people here going right nack to the same eating style that got us into fat camp in the first place.

The gastric sleeve is a blessing and we should treat it that way. Why go through all of this if we just keep eating the trash we were eating before???

Being skinny now doesnt make us immune to health issues. We can still develop hypertension, diabetes, and hypercholesteremia!

Dont live to eat, eat to live. food should no longer be our reward nor focus. Just eat whats necessary and dont push the envelope.

American values has us programmed into thinking food is for fun. Its not, its simply fuel for us to do things that are fun.

Come on people, we have to maintain a healthy lifestyle and stop toying with our health.

Peace and love to all.

Nicely put. I have to be in total agreement. Even though I am almost 3 weeks out since my surgery I am very mindful of what I eat. I find myself already thinking ahead of the healthy dishes I can't wait to make for myself as well as my family. I have always loved to cook but this just makes it more exciting. I am looking so forward to the new healthier me and the new recipes that I will be sharing. The Best is yet to come and not only will I be benefiting from eating healthy my family will be as well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
