How often do you weigh yourself? Just curious. I weigh weekly and keep track of that weight. It usually goes down this week it was up a couple lbs freaked me out. This was first time it has gone up. Not sure why but I figure its Water retention.

I weigh daily but I don't recommend it I am just insane:) My weight fluctuates and I let it freak me but I just can't ignore the scale...especially since I keep it in the kitchen lol.

I'm preop but I weigh twice per week, on friday morning and on Monday morning. . A lot of times people lose weight during the week and then gain it all back on the weekend

I try to weigh just once a week, on Sunday. Then I put the scale away in the closet so it's not so easily accessible. If it gets left out on the bathroom floor, I just have to jump on it. I just hate being a slave to it or having my attitude for the day dictated by the number.

I weigh myself every morning...I also would love to stop doing that and try weekly but it's so hard :-( but the good thing is at the point where I'm at I'm am steady losing weight so it's always been a great start to my morning...but I know there will come a time where it's not always going to be that way so once a week I know would help keep my sanity when the stalls begin...

I weigh myself three times a week on average. Some people don't like to do it as often. I kinda think it keeps me honest and motivated. To each their own.

The scale is a disinterested observer. The friend or foe is in the head. The trick is taking in his data and concluding wisely. About 50% of the topics here are born of false assumption and hysteria. But..that's ok....we is what we is....human Beans.

Mmmmmmm.......beans! :)

I don't ever weight myself. I like to be surprised when I go to the Dr.

Just put some masking tape over the number part of the scale. On the tape write down your goal weight. Now EVERY time you step on you will ONLY see your goal weight and are forced to either wait until you see the Dr. or bend over and remove the tape (which you KNOW will be wrong). :)

I'm in the same boat! Today is week 10 and my first gain. It's disheartening. Any other diet, this would be the time I would throw in the towel. However, logically, I know there is no way I have consumed enough calories within the last week to constitute a 2 pound weight gain. Also, I started in the gym this week, both cardio and strength training. I know that probably has something to do with the weight gain as well.

So, this week it is all about getting my Water and Protein in!! :)

Keep on keepin' on!!

Its smart to not the numbers dictate to you. We know we are doing everything right so we need patience and we will get to our goal. I have two goals my personal one and the recommended goal according to height weight chart. 40 away from first goal.

Forgive the war analogy.

The war is at a stand off. General Metabolism has ordered a tactical retreat into a defensible position. President Grey Matter has ordered a build up of forces with increased quality of rations and exercise maneuvers. The weak elements of the army are washing out. The flame throwing expanded muscle Fiber brigade are ready to incinerate the enemy. Although Darla Depresso is on the radio trying to tell the troops that the Fat Reich will prevail, the science officers from the Matter administration are keeping the morale high.

The tide turns! The Reich is pushed back. Although seeming to rally at times, the lines of evil diminish.

President Grey Matter orders celebrations. The nation prospers in freedom and decks itself with beautiful new tapestries. Victory at last!

I've been weighing everyday for the past 2 weeks and I'm going to go back to weighing once a week. The ups and downs drive me insane, plus I sabotage myself when I see the number go down. My weigh in day is on Friday :)

Weigh my self why? I never weigh myself either. Size is more important than pound to me. Plus it can become rather obsessive to constantly count pounds. If you are following proper eating and excersize things should go pretty smoothly....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
