  1. Hey all May 2013 sleevers, let's see some updated pictures!!!!!
  2. Here's an updated pic 2 yrs later.
  3. I pray that you and your family make it through this tough time. I did not have a leak, however my stomach stopped working all together after my sleeve. As a result I could not digest food, therefore I would vomit everything. This occurred 3 months after my surgery. I ended up with a Tpn line because I had become malnourished and had a home nurse who came daily. I also stayed 30 days in the hospital. I was depressed and stressed as I am a single mom of three. I told everyone I knew, don't do it!!! But now 2 years later this was the best decision I've ever made in my life. Trust me things will get better. If you ever need someone to talk to I am here! I was very sad during this process. In the meantime, check out some work from home companies customer service etc. And try to get gov. Assistance or unemployment if you havent. I wish you the best and pray that things work for you as they did for me .
  4. My surgery was May 2013. So far I have lost 175.
  5. My doctor told me the same thing. He said due to my bmi, the bypass would be the only thing that would help me get the most results. My fear was the side effects of the dumping syndrome with the by pass. And while I understand that side effects are minimized if you follow directions, I also recognize that I am human and may eat something that just disturbs me. Either way I started at 410, by surgery I was 365. This was may 2013, I am now 220 and have maintained this weight for over a year. Honestly, my dr. Would like for me to be 150 but I am happy where I am. I may go for 190 -- but going from a size 32 to a size 14 made me happy enough . Make the best decision for you!
  6. I never realized that so much socialization was done around food until I had my surgery. From pot.lucks at work to happy hour with friends. I was extremely depressed after my surgery when ever food was the center of the event. In fact I had my surgery in may so the entire summer cook out events we a no go. I felt like I was isolating myself and those around me appeared to be annoyed by my constant 4 ounce rules. Either way, I am 2 years out and after about 5 months life became a lot better. I don't know what happened with your friends but if they are real that can be repaired or you will definitely gain new ones. But as for food and cigarettes - which I had to give up also...i understand and you will make it.through I promise. Congrats on your progress and good luck!!!!
  7. I started around 3 months later and fell on and off. Now that I'm 2 yrs out its very important to exercise as much as possible
  8. I went to Dr you two years ago! Good luck on your journey!
  9. It's been 2 years since my surgery. I am now 220 started at 400, sleeved at 360.
  10. Unjury and to me yes Dstined4gr8tnes
  11. I was 362 on my surgery day... went to my two week post opt and now im 342....excited Dstined4gr8tnes
  12. So my surgery was may 9th went for my two week post opt and I am down twenty pounds in two weeks....whoooo hoooo. Dstined4gr8tnes
  13. Lol...well congrats on your upcoming date and I know the feeling. Dstined4gr8tnes
  14. They did. But my issue was I "thought" instead of checked. I was very clear on the clear liquid but when I heard full later im like ok. Basically some smart people are dumb...and I had a dumb moment. Dstined4gr8tnes
  15. So im exactly six days post opt and received a rude awakening from my nurse. I thought our full liquid meant food low sugar low cal high Protein liquid form. Ive been eating bean Soup and was told I could really hurt myself , get sick or die. I have a very clear understanding now, but I called her about my chest pains and now I'm terrified. Can't even sleep. Like I don't want to die...sounds dramatic but I'm serious. Besides if I intentionally wanted to abandon the rules I would die from canollis or chicken marcella...ijs this is serious but jeeze I would want my last meal to be chic peas. Hopefully the pain goes away soon and I finshed my day off with broth and Water...both with a touch of Protein Powder. Dstined4gr8tnes
  16. GIRLRFRIDAY...great, keep up the good work. Haven't made it to my stall yet since I'm such a newbie. But im sure the slow but steady will prevail in this scenario. IVORYOWL....keep pushing that is great that you dr is trying to get you at a lower bmi early because then later it will be much easier. I know many insurance companies put restrictions on people as well. Cant wait til you post your date! Dstined4gr8tnes
  17. I'm excited that so many of us can work collectively to leave to 300+ club and probably the 200+ lol....we all lose differently...One day at a time...or should I say one pound at a time. Lol Dstined4gr8tnes
  18. Good luck ladies, I'm sure you will both do great. Dstined4gr8tnes
  19. Congrats plenty of rest is good Dstined4gr8tnes
  20. Congrats keep up the good work...I go to my appt wed, hope I have similar results like you Dstined4gr8tnes
  21. Oh wow, I didn't know they had those restrictions. My bmi is in the 60s, but I will pray for the approved notice as well! I'm sure it's already in the making Dstined4gr8tnes
  22. Wow congrats! That's serious motivation. What do you do? Any special exercising? Dstined4gr8tnes
