I have changed a ton of my eating habits but I am not a health nut. I choose low calorie alternatives...instead of a candy bar I will have a Protein Bar, fat free milk vs 2% ect... I still eat the same meals as I did before but instead of 4 pieces of pizza I have about 3/4 of a thin crust piece or a full plate of meat and potatoes vs 1/2 cup of it that I usually don't finish. Today at work we had ice cream bars & I had one I'm my hand a few people said to me you can't eat that! I ate about 1/2 of it and my high Protein chili for lunch. I rarely eat over 1000 calories and always hit my protein and Water goals. I am 2.5 months out and have lost 44 lbs+.

This life is your journey, no one else's. We are losing weight so we can have a normal life. We are learning to indulge just a little, every once in a while. 1/2 an ice cream bar is probably a victory for you. In the past you probably would have eaten a lot more than that. Continue your weight loss journey knowing that you will succeed because it looks to me like you are doing a great job.

If it works for you then fine, this is your own journey no one else's, just don't compare your losses with anyone else either . The food/exercise program you follow will give weight loss that is just for you. Enjoy!

We're all guaranteed to fail because we're human. Sounds to me like you're doing fine overall.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
