I guess im a slow loser

Recommended Posts

I'm feeling really discouraged this week. For the last three weeks I've lost less than 2 lbs/week. I have 60 to lose. I'm really working out in that time though, upper on Monday, lower on Wednesday, cardio 4 days a week or more. Sigh. I eat very low carb (20 net carbs a day) and I'm getting my daily Water, usually plus some. I'm getting 600-800 calories a day.

I feel gypped. I'm glad I can't really go OFF this diet, but I really hoped to lose quicker.

And I know all about the skin not being as flappy etc. I'm going to have flappy wrinkly skin as it is, it's a heredity thing. That argument doesn't work with me. Sadly.

Last week - 1.6

This week - 1.4

:( I lost faster than this on every other diet I've ever done. Up to 6 lbs a week on weight watchers. Same with vegan

Maybe I need carbs?

I am experiencing what you are. I am only 3 months out, but i lose MAYBE a pound a week. I upped my carb count to 35 and it seemed to help. Believe it or not, i added in some whole grains and healthy carbs and it did the trick. Good luck, i know its frustrating, especially when i see someone with my stats and surg. date lost double what I have.

It will come off, It HAS to.

I'm only 2 ( edit: MONTHS, not weeks. Lol )out. I'm unsure what to do Afa my diet because I just committed to low carb maybe five days ago. I wonder of I'm not giving it enough time.

I want to try adding healthy grains. Or maybe go back to vegan, but I worry about Protein. Are you on mfp? I'd love to read your journal. :)

What are your Protein requirements?

Are you still on liquids only?

I know all Drs are different, just wondering whats yours does.

I was sleeved in Mexico, so I just use vst to learn what to do at this point. I aim for 60 G Protein and I'm two months out and eating anything. :)

Ha! Saw the correction on the 2 months not weeks:)

At least your still losing even though it's slowed down for you.

Seems there are many with stalls or slow downs 2-3 months out.

You are doing great! I think it's a misconception that you lose faster when you have had this surgery than without the surger. We lose fast that first month and afterwards it slows down depending on the amount you have to lose. Part of that is because the heavier you are the more calories you burn in just moving your body around. I could spend an hour on the elliptical at the gym and when I weighed 200 lbs I would burn 500+ calories in an hour, now that I'm at 134 lbs that exact same workout doesn't even hit 300 calories. I'm going to post my month to month weight loss so you can see.

M 1 – 21 LBS

M 2 – 3.2 LBS

M 3 – 11.2 LBS

M 4 – 6 LBS

M 5 – 5.2 LBS

M 6 – 2 LBS

M 7 – 8.2 LBS

M 8 – 9.4 LBS

M 9 – 10.6 LBS

M 10 – 7.2

Oh that's really neat to see laid out like that! Is there anything you did differently on low/higher months? I hope my third month is high like yours!

Thank you for the encouragement, I really appreciate it.

Maybe its possible your scale isnt seeing a huge loss because you are doing weights and so your building muscle mass and ultimately you are storing excess glycogen in your muscles from your workouts which results in Water weight on the scale..A lot of people that work out don't see greater drops for a few months when they start working out with weights. It takes your body time to adjust to the workout before your muscles start losing the water

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
