Lying about weight loss and/or months on a program

Recommended Posts

I was in the same situation last year with my surgery I was able to get it done. Had my surgery on Dec 19. You should talk to the coordinators in your hospital it is their job to work issues like this and also they know all the requirements from the different insurance companies. Believe me they are there to help.

When I first went to the surgeon' date=' a six month diet was required. During the process that criteria was dropped. But, the insurance did want documented six months of supervised diet, and weigh ins when it was a requirement.

Don't give them any reason to deny you. Be straight with them and use the time to prepare yourself. You can still have good loss prior to surgery and continue with the sleeve. When I started off, I joined weight watchers as my six month diet. I wound up getting a jump start and lost almost 60 lbs before surgery.

Good luck![/quote']

I think if I lost 60pounds my insurance would not pay. Was yours ok with that?

I am starting to believe that I am one of the very lucky/ blessed woman. I didn't have to submit no documentation, I didn't deal with my insurance at all, no preop diet, I paid only my toll change traffic to get to the hospital , approved 3 days after my surgeon submitted. I feel bad for whoever have to do all these jumping. Keep your head up, it's all worth it at the end!

I was just saying...with the amount I have to lose...which is 100....-and I lost 60...I don't think the insurance company would pay. It would put me to close to my goal without the surgery and 60 pounds would drop my BMI drastically. It all has tobe a good balance. I have heard that can happen.

I had to do the 6 months supervised diet. I have learned a lot! I was a bit upset that I had to do

it, as 6 months seemed like forever! But it's gone by quickly, and I have learned what to eat, and expect after surgery. That said, I haven't lost ANY weight during this time, but I haven't gained either. Lol! 2 more months to go! Good luck on your journey!

I had been approved for surgery about half way through the 60lbs loss. They use the weight you are when you first go to the surgeon. At least that is what I was told by the coordinator. I also had more than 100lbs. to lose.

If you are on a medically supervised diet plan and DON't lose some weight I would think they would worry more about that. Check with the surgical coordinator at your doctor's office. They have been through all kinds of scenarios and I'm sure they will have answers for you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
