It sounds like it's time for you to pursue some counselling. You have gone through a huge transition and life is different now. It's important that you talk about your anxiety and your issues surrounding food. The sleeve is not meant to be a tool to get an eating disorder or a phobia to food, It's to help you in your weight loss journey. Your stomach is still your stomach, just smaller. It is true that you have to watch what you eat still but obsession over how much or too much is not healthy. I urge you to seek professional counselling. I wish you the best! :)

I tend to worry about food to a point, but not to the point i do not want to eat. I do, however, fear of getting sick/too full when I am out or will be going out that I stopped eating or ate very small amounts during a meal (1oz). This past weekend I fainted twice! This was after not eating more than 300 calories for about 5 days. This was the first time I have ever fainted in my life, and I never want it to happen again! I was lucky to have been with someone who was able to catch me. I'm lucky that I wasnt alone and hit my head. Our bodies, whether we feel hungry or not, cannot survive on too little food.< /p>

Of course, just saying you need to eat to live (and lose weight) is easier said than done. I just do not want to see anyone go through the same experience I have had from not eating enough.

This is a red flag that you need to address as soon as possible. I'm not trying to be mean or one of those people that's trying to frighten other people on the forums, but as someone that went from one eating disorder to another. I too obsess and worry; I track LITERALLY every single thing that I eat and drink, etc. I also see a psychologist every week to address my issues because I know I've simply swapped addictions, disorders, etc.

Please, ask your doctor to recommend a therapist or find one of your own. This is a tool meant to help us lead a healthy lifestyle. I truly wish you the very best in your journey.

Yes , it is necessary to strike a balance. I would consider drinking an electrolyte drink to help you with the fainting issue, making sure your staying hydrated. If 300 calories is all your getting in, maybe you might want to consider increasing your caloric intake through the use of healthy fats, such as adding a little veg oil to your food or a few pieces of avocado or if you can tolerate Peanut Butter and you can stick it in a shake.

You will get used to your stomach and you will know what you can and cant eat and how much..stick with what you know does work when you are out. And remember, you can enjoy what you eat, you don't have to be a prisoner to food.< /p>

I understand you and how it feels to be anxious about being sick in public, I have experienced that many times in my life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
