I have tried everything and I was hiving Migraines since I was a child. I was having about 2-4 a week. What works really well for me was botox.

I see a neurologist who injects botox around my forehead/scalp line, and around the nape of my neck and scalp line.

I SWEAR I am headache free for at least 3 months. Sometimes a bit longer but around the 5 month mark I know it is time to go back. Something about the botox temporarily paralyzes the cranial nerves that apply added pressure on our blood vessels.

Look into this. Insurance companies have been known to pay for this as it is a medical treatment.

I just had my first round of Botox a week ago and am very sore on the left side of my shoulder and upper back. Is this normal? How long does it last?

^ What? I was never sore anywhere. Where exactly did you get it done? Was it by a Dr too?

From my experience the results last anywhere from 3-5 months. Some people need things sooner, and others later; but it usually falls around this time frame.

It was done by my Neurologist. My head feels like a million pound bowling ball. My neck and shoulder hurt pretty bad and it's been 10 day.

The injections were on my forehead, scalp, neck and back of my head.

I have had Migraines since I was 16. After my brother died 4 years ago the migraines were really bad. My migraines mimic strokes where one side is weaker and I am confused and can't get my words out. My neurologist started me on Botox every three to four months. It has been a life changer. It does not help with migraines caused by glares but definitely with stress. I have not had one since thy started the Botox a year and a half ago (the bad ones). Also I had surgery almost one month ago and have not had a headache since then. I hope you all find relief because there is nothing worse.

MommyofFive please go see your neurologist.

That is not a normal reaction. My guess is that this may be something not directly related to the botox. Sometimes I have had Migraines that occur at the same time as a cluster headaches and a tension headache. It is highly possibly that this you are experiencing a tension headache because they can radiate move a bit. Your symptoms are not normal for Botox. Usually hyper reactions include swelling, and allergic reactions include itching and vomiting. Please go see your Dr. for follow up.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
