Thanks everyone.

I just heard from my coordinator and she said because I don't have 5 CONSECUTIVE years of weight history, it is not looking too good for me. She said UHC is picky about having the years being consecutive. I have as far back as '03 but don't have consecutive years :(

I had to have extensive weight records, too. I went to my PCP and what we did was send my highest weight of the year for the last five years. (maybe 7, I don't remember) good luck! If you really need this you'll find a way to make it happen.

I too am new. I am still meeting insurance requirements of 4 visits with weight loss management with my surgeon's office, meeting with a nutritionist, having a psych eval., and all the pre-surgery tests. Planning to get psych eval in May, complete all tests in June. My final visit with weight loss will be first of July. 2nd visit with surgeon should be same day. Hoping to get approval and have surgery by July 19. Surgeon's office says that it is doable. We shall see. If I don't have it in July, I will not be able to have the surgery until September due to work requirements.

I hear you! I need to have it in the summer too. I'm a mother of four and I'm also a teacher. However, despite my summers off, I am the dance team sponsor. We have camps throughout the summer, I have trainings, and I want a vacation somewhere in between!!! So, I have a small window of opportunity. I hope everything works out for you!

Kat---I am a mother of three with the oldest 6 years old. I will begin my first principal job this summer. I have been the asst. principal for quite a few years. I understand the dance thing. I coached cheerleaders for 15 years. Hoping your summer works out the way you need it to.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
